Becky used the distraction of Al to try and pickpocket the man approaching him. Perhaps they had something she could use as a weapon, or she could just grab their wallet and run.

[Mid-afternoon, Wednesday August 12th, 2071; Departures, SeaTac Airport]

The man, Ernie said something pithy in Aztlaner Spanish as he dropped his weapon, the woman was clearly made of sterner stuff as she gave the lightest squeeze of the trigger that sent the toxin round at Al with a faint phut of compressed gas. Fortunately for Al he had closed the distance so fast that her aim was off and it disappeared under his arm and off in to the crowds of commuters somewhere behind him. Wrapping them up in a big embrace he had to keep his eyes firmly off Becky as she calmly lifted Ernie’s ‘link from his inside pocket and continued on at an angle to the confrontation. Unfortunately for them all hysterical screams rose from behind them and that was bound to draw the Renraku goons and the Knights like devil rats to a fresh corpse…

Forty steps up to the big hug — making sure to give the dropped weapon a firm toe-flick away in the process — and makes sure to smile as she growls at the two “Cause us any more trouble and I make you swallow your tongues and claw your eyes out. You” indicating the woman with her eyes, “pass the weapon to Kh — to the dog.”

Becky continued walking and placed the link with Jenny. “Try to figure out who they are… ” she said softly as she grabed Jenny’s hand and as calmly as possible took her away from the combat.

You understand the wink and just grab the hand with the gun in your teeth. The weapon is small and the plastic is crunchy. You spit it out while the female pulls back her hand with a pained expression. A very faint growling sounds from your throat.

In the half-formed plan at the back of his mind, Al had imagined distracting Ernie and Bernice enough for Forty to slip away with Jenny. But he couldn’t deny it felt good to have his teammates Forty and Khili step up to back his play. And he was super impressed with the way Becky glided in for a silky smooth hand-off, guiding Jenny away from the growing ruckus.

What all that added up to was that the best thing he could do was to continue keeping as much attention on himself as possible, again to maximize Becky’s chance of guiding Jenny to the correct pick-up.

And since there was already some commotion flaring up around them….”Love ya Ernie baby, but what ya done said ta Auntie Esmeralda last Thanksgivin’….” And he hauled off and threw his biggest haymaker at Ernie’s jaw…..

Ernie, now released, glared at Al as the wound up haymaker glanced off him. His eyes flickered over Al’s shoulder and clearly seeing the writing on the wall he began to try and fade back in to the diminishing crowd. Bloody spooks, no balls! The woman also began to step back away from the runners but her gaze wasn’t as fixated on Al as he would like and there was a danger that she would pick up on Becky and Jenny as they beat a retreat…

Although Al was largely oblivious others of the team where aware of the AROs that sprung up in to being around the area, a soft female voice announcing

“Please remain calm. The concourse is being locked down for your security. Please comply with the instructions of your onsite security personnel”

He had no trouble hearing the whine of the Renraku drones as they homed in on the fallen wage slave or the increasingly close stamp of jack boots or the harsh bark of the KE officer

    “Knight Errant Security. Nobody move!”

The sheep, predictably, had a mix of reactions, unfortunately most chose to follow instruction and stay still – looking nervously back at the approaching sec officers…it would make any sudden moves all the more obvious…

You realize the danger of the situation. Al is no man that is easily told what to do, so you act and sit on his boots for a second. The last thing you need is him being shot while you try to protect him…

Cops on the way? Good – more confusion. Ernie was on the run. But Bernice, she looked like she had something to prove. Al figured he’d just have to kick her ass next. But when he moved to take her out, his feet didn’t follow his body, and he tumbled unceremoniously to the hard tile floor. One elbow cracked painfully against the unyielding surface, but he twisted to see that he’d somehow tripped over Khili.

“Dammit, pooch, aintcha go no sense? Sic ’em or somthin’,” he said, scrambling to regain his feet, only to be knocked back down when only halfway up by a panicked fat woman in lavender terrycloth tights.

Cops! Panic clawed at Forty’s throat. They’d know who she was, send her back to prison …she had Bolt, it could kill the cops … but last time that she’d done that, she’d still gone to prison … but if she did nothing they’d know who she was and send her back to prison …

Then their words penetrated: Knight Errant, not Lone Star! Maybe they wouldn’t know? But no, they’d see the hate in her eyes, and if they challenged her she doubted she’d resist the bait. If they came to break up a fight, the way that cops did, she wouldn’t keep her temper.

Fight. They were coming to break up a fight. She needed to make this Not-A-Fight. “What is the opposite of fight? C’mon, think Forty!” She realized she was muttering her thoughts out loud, but didn’t care. Her hands were already patting her stupid hippy dress, looking for the weapons that weren’t there. “Hippy … what did they used to say? That’s it!”

Ignoring the commands to stay still she lurched forward, giving a final shove to the plush posterior of a woman in her way, and she dropped to her knees and wrapped her arms around Al, yelling “Are you OK Love? What did that brute do to you?” And then she hid her face from the cops the best way she could think of, by grabbing Al’s head and giving him a long kiss. She broke off long enough to mutter “Make-love-not-war-and-don’t-kill-cops” then locked her face back to Al’s.

You step to Al’s other side to shield him from any more fat women, trying to trample him. A partial success at best but at least Al is no longer about to make himself a target. You lick his face. It tastes horrible and bristly but still better than the little plastic gun.

Trying to get up and at his chosen target a second time, Al was bowled over yet again. This time, however, instead of someone that looked like she belonged on a daytime “chat” episode entitled I’m a Breeder for the Humanis Policlub it was the svelte and, indeed, eminently breedable Forty. Better. But had everyone gone crazy?

Then she locked onto his lips like a starving suckerfish and his steel trap mind made two quick observations. First, this weird team of people was somehow fully half comprised of stone hotties, and the hottiest of the three had now overcome her initial resistance to his charms and, in a moment of stress, given in to her true desires. Second, between the cops, the spies, the Renraku goons, the crowd of screaming sheep, and, hopefully, a Johnson in here somewhere, he was so completely clueless as to who was who and what was what, any given action he took was about equally likely to be successful or disastrous. So, with one move as worthwhile as another, his choice was obvious.

He kissed Forty in a way that was sure to make her forget any confusing predilections she may have acquired in prison. She broke off to say something about killing cops, but soon found herself unable to break free of the magical moment and was kissing him again. Her tongue was in his mouth, and her other tongue was in his ear, and….waitaminnit….her other tongue????

Dammit Khili! Fer Pete’s sake, pooch, ya gone completely loco? Where the hell’s Jenny got to?”

You grin a doggy grin. At least for the moment no-one seems to intend to shoot him.
But now you have to find the girl again, so you get up and pull on the leash.

After letting Jenny a short while to fiddle with the device mainly to occupy her, Becky planted it the basket underneath a crib with a newborn baby in it. Jenny seemed perplexed but Becky said – “Guy can trace his own link, it would slow these people down…”

“Find out who they where?” She asked

    “Aztecs” Replied Jenny

    “did you hack the thing?”

Jenny replied “No, the name was Spanish and it had the company logo. I can’t hack”

    “Okay… good thinking.”

The two girls continued to stroll around toward their destination, unhindered by the commotion. Becky dance moved and instructed Jenny to do the same. With all the DNI’s people add with devices straight in their brains, the two weirdoes could just be in their own private party, seemingly oblivious to their surrounding. When they reached the lady’s room Back tagged the girl inside with her trolley and said “Time to change clothes… Wear something comfortable before the flight.”

[Mid-afternoon, Wednesday August 12th, 2071; Departures, SeaTac Airport]

Becky and Jenny seemed to have evaded detection for now and Becky was momentarily startled when her ‘link pinged with a message from the ‘J’

    >I have been watching you, you have done well so far but at least one of the hostile agents is in your vicinity. Please bring Miss Worth to the upper concourse and you can hand her over to me. I am prepared to offer a bonus to your agreed on fee if you are able to block the agents from following us further. I do not wish our final destination to be tracked from here. That will mean identifying them all and either leading them away or otherwise detaining them.
    >J

Meanwhile Forty’s ruse seemed to be working as the jack boots pushed past them, homing in on the fallen commuter and ignoring the overt display of emotion. The drones were still buzzing about and no doubt facial recognition programs were busy checking SIN databases so it would be a good idea to leave the immediate vicinity as soon as possible…

With the law moving off in another direction, Jenny in spitting distance of safety, and new work whispering in his ear, Al broke away from the star-cross’d menage a trois and acquired the Azzie agents. Both were now fading into the crowd. They weren’t retreating, though, they were redirecting, seeking their real target.

The guy in his ear wanted all the bad guys IDed, but Al saw no percentage in looking for unknowns when he had two confirmed in his sights.

“I’m goin’ after them two. Y’all back me up, but mostly keep an’ eye out fer anyone workin’ with ’em, we can jam them up too.”

Somewhere behind him, Macey and Willis had their own troubles. But if meant they were occupying the opposition they were now supposed to waylay, then that was a good thing.

Despite how her magic was making the world move lazily around her, it took Forty a long moment to start following Al and Khili. She’d never kissed anyone quite like Al before, and hadn’t been quite ready for the experience. A quick wipe of her face and glance at her fingers assured her that at the least his stubble hadn’t drawn any blood, so she pasted a smile onto her face and tried to focus on the here and now as she started trailing the other two.

How were they supposed to find all the agents that could be in here? Then again, how was the Johnson supposed to know what all agents were in here, as long as they weren’t bothering him? If they could lure in some of the agents, and keep most people away from the Johnson, would that be enough?

“Sounds like we need to find trouble. Finally something-something I’m fragging good at.”

First she called to Bolt, the air spirit she had summoned earlier “Time to make some mages wet their pants. Ya gotta stay astral, but no sneaking around. Just look around for anyone in here who’s looking in the astral, tell me about ’em, and take a long hard look at ’em.”

And since she already had her magic running hot, why not make more use of it? They passed what looked like a mother and daughter headed in the other direction, the mother lecturing: “Honestly Adison, shoulders back and head up, you never know who you will meet.” While the daughter was rolling her eyes, Forty used her ventriloquism to throw her voice onto the mother, adding “We’re meeting the Johnson at the luggage pick-up.” It didn’t sound like the mother of course, and she heard the daughter demand “What did you say?” as they walked off further into the crowd. Now to look for more likely targets, and to hope that the enemy was using sensitive listening devices.

The two girls quickly changed clothes, and Becky used the time to apply some fresh makeup and a new wig to Jenny. She texted the Jhonson,
    >> I’ll bring her alright… Don’t worry about the agents just get her to safety.

With that, the two girls, now dressed as plain tourists continued walking toward the Jhonson. Becky was alert to any threat.

    >> She texted the team, once I deliver, make sure that everybody is distracted by you. Start yelling technomancers or whatever. Build a public hysteria, say that they are going to crush a plane or something. The distraction would let our ward escape.

<<Heh heh. Reckon we’s well on our way ta some good ol’ fashioned panic already, Precious. Makin’ a proper fracas is one o’ the many things Guthries do best.>>

He was almost in striking distance of Ernie and Bernice, who were working their way steadily through the crowd in the direction of Jenny and Becky. But Becky had said to unleash hell after she made the hand-off, so he kept some distance.

You follow Al who seems keen to tangle again with the two very dangerous people. But at least the girl seems to be almost out of danger.
But how should you identify all the other bad people here?
You try to concentrate on your nose, looking for the unmistakable smell of firearms oil, ignoring the many policeman around.
