Well, you can try and get active on that one – but that is definitely way above the scope of a local mafia war.
But I thought it would be funny to tie in our little Anarchy experiment (I have to wait and see what Street Lethal will add to the current status of this conflict)
-
Happy to wrap this up and focus more on SFW2! It’s been fun playing Feral again though and he’ll be around for future conflicts ?
Thanks Jack!
-
No, I was just asking if you were planning on continuing this. I may do some continuation of the Triads thread as Song Ai tries to pick up the pieces of her plan. Any issues with that?
-
Not from my side.
But it’s getting harder and harder to find a reason for Al to stick around and help the “filthy” Triads 😉
-
Oh, I expect that Al will say some things to TT and leave her to do her thing while he goes off to bigger and better things.
-
Not sure what everyone wanted to do once back at the hotel. I set up a small thing for each of you that could lead to some part of the plot, but please feel free to bail by letting me know. I would like to continue playing Song Ai as she tries to pull the 88s together and moves on to working towards her goals. I can keep doing this until one of you decides to jump in with a plot. I see lots of potential for things to go sideways when she tries to deal with the issues of prostitution and drugs, so do not be afraid to volunteer to add some outside dimension to the plot by stepping up to be a temp GM. Also do not be afraid to use an IC post to drop your character from the current plot, even if you might be back in it later.
I hope that this is OK with you, Aria.
-
@Jack When Song Ai was walking the streets and trying to see to cleaning up some of the mess, you engineered a run in with some skilled people. They were upset at being considered second class or worse. Song Ai tried to get them to stay, but you had indicated that they would rather leave. Did you intend that to be permanent or could Song Ai contact them and get them back to help her with her security issues? She would see it as a start to making this part of Chinatown more accepting and they could certainly be a help in dealing with security issues.
-
You mean the Mongrels? They actually would have left by now – and likely cause some trouble if they came back. But yes, you could entice them to work for you for relatively cheap money (at the cost of some goodwill from the more “traditionally minded” (read: racist) folks in China Town.
-
OK. I can leave them alone. I was just looking for new security guys and thought that they might work. They come with some baggage, but would probably do better than arming kids with little or no training. it would be fun to RP them as learning to fit in with Chinatown and vice versa. Also, I like taking advantage of your creations. I am still of the thought that they and Song Ai could have worked well together after getting over the initial rough patch.
I will give it some thought and might still try to get them back.
-
LOL I get it. Did you have any sort of idea for what the emergency should be. It could be a last gasp of Fu Shing’s competitor trying to send some muscle into the casino to take it over?
-
So see, that’s why I am leaving it to you. We have very different views of how easy this will be for Tanya.
I would never characterize them as making a “last gasp”!
But it’s basically your story – you should make it whatever suits – I was just tired of one long conversation, wanted something to happen!
-
Sort of a PM – but the notifications don’t seem to be working, so more likely you’d see this.
Besides, we seem to be the only two people still clinging to this thread.
Do you feel like we’re spinning our wheels, though?
Sort of posting back and forth with little focus or direction? Or is that just me?Yes, some decisions made on overall strategy (stick with the casino, etc.), and some real forward motion in terms of Al deciding to be more committed to Tanya’s cause – less parallel action and cynical attitude, more coordinated action and hopefully constructively critical attitude (?) .
(Mostly just throwing in ongoing conflict with Lei Tung to avoid the whole show being suffused with too much sweetness and light – if we diminish the conflict between Al and Tanya, things could just get way too saccharine for an organized crime-centered story….am I wrong?).Let me know your thoughts on how you think it’s going, where you’d like it to go from here – in terms of characters and events. General or specific. PM or OOC.
And definitely only when your health permits! -
You could be right about this. I was going to need to bring in some way to get her plans back on track, but it is generally just a function of the two of us. Besides, the plans seem to have been slowed.
Are you thinking that we should just let go of the thread?
-
Not really.
I mean, Al comes and goes as his interest waxes and wanes. One of his many immaturities.
But Tanya is pretty invested in this, and Al has now decided to seriously back her.
We’ve posted together well enough and long enough that I am sure we can make this a cool thread (assuming you are still interested!). If it takes us a few days or some further discussion to determine the next phase of the storyline, that’s not a worry (and especially don’t push things with your health!!!).
So if you are wanting to wind it up – let’s do some IC posts with Tanya deciding that. There could even be some tricky issues involved with extracting her from the situation.
But if you want to continue – GREAT – let’s put our heads together, maybe in PMs or email, and figure out some upcoming plot points to work towards!
-
Cool. I really would like to continue the thread a bit more. She really is a crusader for trying to help people and she sort of got sucked into this grand idea that has some holes in it that she is just now starting to see. Al has opened her eyes to several things already.
I can do either PMs or emails.
-
Cool – I’ll PM some thoughts. Final call is yours – it’s basically your story.
