I’m back home after my brief visit to Germany. Sorry that I didn’t get to posting while there. Jet lag has me less that fully coherent, but let’s get some quick hacking rolls going.
…and I can’t seem to log into Orokos from my work computer. On my phone I can log in, but can’t get rolls to complete (keep getting a form re-submission error) Anyone else been having trouble with it? To keep things moving I’m going to use the dice roller on Obsidian Portal, although I don’t know that there is a way for other people to see the rolls with that?
Runs sleaze and toolbox (+1 sleaze, +1 data processing), Overclocker on Sleaze, final ASDF = 1/3/5/5 between actions, 1/7/5/1 during actions

Pass 3
Edit drone’s targeting/friend-vs-foe information, to set it’s target to be the other drone
Preston computers 17d
Roll (17d6) + 0 = 1, 6, 4, 1, 1, 6, 4, 1, 2, 1, 3, 4, 1, 4, 6, 6, 2

Target (ā„ 5) = 6 SuccessesHe’s out of edge, so can’t do anything about that. That is it for turn 2. When we get to turn three, provided the drones haven’t gotten to him in the meantime, he’ll try again.

@Jack_Spade: how do you want us to run this? Looks like the drones are still going to be functioning in rnd 1 so presumably we should wait for them to try and ventilate us before working out any more rolls? See, this is why SR6 would be good… only one group of actions (sort of) per person per combat turn š
As it is Preston is now ahead of us in time… hopefully Al can take out those drones with his rolls?!?

@Aria
Not really, since everyone still would have their passes in order – what is a pass now would be a round in SR6.But no worries – or rather few worries – Orkokos seems to have lost its database, but you can still roll by entering “test” into the fields:
Drone 1 and 2 try to Tag Lily
2#9d6t5: 2 # 2 [9d6t5=4, 1, 4, 6, 6, 2, 3, 4, 4] 3 [9d6t5=4, 6, 1, 5, 3, 4, 1, 3, 5]
Lily defense
2#5d6t5: 2 # 5 [5d6t5=6, 6, 5, 5, 6] 1 [5d6t5=2, 1, 1, 6, 4]
Tag 2 succeedsBoth drones fire: 2#11d6t5: 2 # 4 [11d6t5=1, 2, 6, 6, 6, 1, 1, 2, 3, 3, 6] 4 [11d6t5=6, 6, 6, 2, 2, 1, 4, 3, 5, 3, 4]
Defense:
17d6t5: 6 [17d6t5=1, 3, 1, 5, 1, 1, 4, 1, 2, 5, 6, 1, 6, 3, 6, 5, 4]
16d6t5: 7 [16d6t5=6, 4, 1, 5, 5, 2, 6, 1, 2, 6, 3, 1, 5, 3, 5, 2]Easily avoided both shots
-
Lesson learned – taking out one guy per pass is not enough when your friend is facing nine threats!
Al will keep shooting, though!
At some point their morale might be a factor as they drop one after another – or at least they’ll start to see Al as more of a threat….
-
Jack, I think that Rebbeca is running the entire combat rounf to get that 300+ meter distance from the opposition. So not much else to do combat wise.
Once they are far enough she’ll snipe them with the bow
-
I deliberately rolled a couple of turns to ‘bank’ them and not hold anyone up, sorry for the spoiler effect of knowing about pass 3 early.
-
@Aria
I’m halting for now – spending edge on your part is likely a very sensible idea to avoid the 7S damage -
Edge spent! Wish Iād bought that bio monitor and auto injector now… her stim patches feel a long way off in her belt pouch ?
-
I’m actually a little unclear on where exactly Lily would put a stim patch?
EDIT – Doh! My bad. Answered in the iC.
-
Yeah, her head and neck are ‘human’ she’s machine from there on down š
-
We are near the end of the action and the story.
So if there are any hooks you still want to investigate, now’s the time.
Otherwise we can jump to the reward section/party -
Dang – actually a straight-up extraction?
To be fair, if there was any way to totally surprise me, that was it!!!
Another great one, Jack.
-
I was convinced until the very end that we were somehow going to end up in space.
-
That was actually a possibility – but you managed to ace all your rolls and prevented them from sending Alex with his pod away.
(I didn’t feel like railroading you into that, after you did a great job getting in and out) -
Sequel: possibly, but not before next year – I’m kinda burned out between job and relationship demanding more of my time.
SR6: not likely. The new system just doesn’t do it for me with that high emphasis on metagame/edge hunting. (And possibly, because I don’t have the energy to study the new rulebook in depth)
-
Yeah – I do feel like the question of who sold out is identity leads into a next chapter….
Anyway, great stuff!

This has been fun, Jack. I loved the view into some different corners of the SR world than what we normally see. For sure some loose ends that could lead to a new run — mind you, for Alex to have less people who know that he is an immortal elf, he could arrange for us to be done away with, so having things end now is not all bad …
I’m pretty burned out on Preston (you may have noticed a reduced amount of his voices lately), so if a sequel called for largely the same team I’d appreciate some time between them as well. (and if I were to move to a new character, a bit of head’s up time to get them put together. Well, if it was Forty ten years later that would probably be pretty quick, if it is someone new that could take more time).
