It doesn’t directly, but as long as you keep them on, then they are giving your Reaction a bonus, and anything that uses Reaction (all your defense tests) has a -6 penalty.
Or you can turn the Reflexes off.June 14, 2019 at 5:26 pm #19730

We need Ichante to cadt her mapping spellJune 17, 2019 at 1:54 am #19751
Alright, if I’m reading the rules correctly then Ex-Gladius has eliminated the background count for Magic 7 = 7 combat turns. Which isn’t a long time but hopefully is enough to crank out a Spatial Sense spell, and maybe use Magic Sense too. The spell might meet an early end in 20 seconds if Ex-Gladius doesn’t keep the cleansing up, but so be it.
Ichante will try out her new Centering which, RP-wise, I’m still working out the kinks.
Spatial Sense @F6: Magic 7 + Spellcasting 6 + Power Focus 2: 15d6t5 7 hits, capped at 6 by Limit
Soaking F-1 = 5S drain: Willpower 6 + Intuition 6 + Centering 1 + Centering Focus 3: 16d6t5 1 hit, ahh, right back to normal
Not going to start things off with 4S drain from a 2nd percentile roll, so we’ll Edge that: Edge reroll: 15d6t5 1 hit
Well I guess that’s that. 31 dice and 2 hits later, I’m kicking things off at 3S.
Ichante will also use Magic Sense. Out of self-pity, I’ll roll it prior to her new -1 wound modifier. Effective range is 70 meters, although the book is less-than-clear on what the dice pool should be for the adept power. I usually just roll a regular Perception check.
Magic Sense: Intuition 6 + Perception 6: 12d6t5 4 hitsJune 17, 2019 at 4:16 am #19753
@tecumseh: I think in SR5 cleansing only affects the person who did it rather than the area, will have to double check rules…
Edit: never mind, don’t know where I got it in my head but it seems that cleansing works as it always did, just not for very long!

@aria – well – you managed a true SHOCK moment! Good one good one.
Now the metagaming.
I can ignore MOST of what I know about the other game.
But….maybe I’d better PM you…..June 17, 2019 at 1:59 pm #19767
You can ignore it because it was a lie muahahha 😈😈😈June 17, 2019 at 2:01 pm #19768
What is a lie?June 17, 2019 at 2:15 pm #19769
The end of Run! had the PCs find themselves back in reality… or did they??? 😈June 17, 2019 at 2:19 pm #19770
The kids are in deep so jacking them out is likely to cause physiological damage if nothing else… maybe you need some matrix wizzes to dive in and fish them out? Just a thought…
This is one small (relative to the complex) room… there may be others…June 17, 2019 at 2:21 pm #19771
Sorry, auto correct… psychological damage 😏June 17, 2019 at 2:36 pm #19775
Do we have a matrix signal to the outside, could eofie or reaver get in here?June 17, 2019 at 3:18 pm #19776
There’s enough to get through, noise but doable… for various meta reasons your matrix responders will be Aria and Summer… the Run! Thread is linked on the timeline file if you want to know part of what this is all about, but no need to in order to follow this plot…June 17, 2019 at 6:27 pm #19783
The next room through the doors has another 8 chairs and 5 kids… there’s another 2 doors out of that… but don’t want to play D&D here 😁😝
Is Al welding the corridor or room door?June 17, 2019 at 6:40 pm #19784
So you’re saying Al can see all of that from where he’s welding the doors shut?
I mean, do the characters know this, or are you telling us as the players this?
Because the more of these kids it looks like there are, the more going through and slaughtering all the staff makes the best sense – then we have all the time we want to get them out or call in official or unofficial help to do so.June 17, 2019 at 6:54 pm #19785
To avoid a big retcon let’s say that as Al is welding you get drone footage of the next room down a short corridor…June 17, 2019 at 7:36 pm #19787
Okay – seems clear you want us to do something else besides kill the bad guys and secure the facility.
I was just going to follow your suggestion and have him see the next room before the weld had taken – can always clear the weld away before it sets – but seems now I just got ICed finishing sealing the door…which was indeed right in line with what I had intended and stated – so no foul on Mercy…..
Honestly, as I said, the more of these kids it looks like they are, the more impractical it obviously will be to try rescuing them while hostiles are active. The best bet remains to neutralize the hostiles and then take all these brain-warped kids out in a safe and orderly fashion.
But, yes, I would – as stated earlier – first secure their “chairs” , isolating them from being killed remotely….
So Mercy – if you are up for it, you could retcon the part about finishing the door-seal, and then we could post spotting another room full of kids farther down, and get in there and secure them before deciding the next move?
Aria – is that okay?
If there is a way you want us to proceed in line with your story, I’m not trying to break anything.June 17, 2019 at 10:07 pm #19790
Edited my post to have Al just be working on the door. Is that alright?June 18, 2019 at 4:34 am #19795
Goodness only knows what’s going to be required to get all these victims’ minds out safely – very much looking forward to hearing from Aria/Summer on that front!
In the meantime, we need to get the bad guys out – first thing is to secure victims – but after that I’m hoping to get a line of communication open with the bad guys.
It is possible that once they know that their whole operation here is totally compromised, they’ll cut their losses and run, rather then die trying to protect a facility that will never be usable by them again anyway….June 18, 2019 at 4:42 am #19796
I’m not trying to dictate anything 😁, but given that you are all hopeless hooders at heart I’m quite happy to pile on the moral dilemmas 😈. I don’t have a fixed idea of how this story will pan out, where’s the fun in that? 🤔😁
Will try and get the next IC up soon
