    Sorry I went quiet early — combination of a virus of some sort and Christmas prep just wiped me out for the past few days.

    Happy holidays to all. I should be coming back on-line in the coming days, but I assume it will be quiet. I’ll at least get Jawsey’s response up in the next day or two.

    Sorry, after Chrismas I pretty much crashed and stayed offline for the rest of the holidays. Basically focused on coffee and books until I was feeling more myself. Feeling much better and ready to get going again.

    … but I’m a bit uncertain of what to have Jawsey say. Beatles are a street drug? But our team doesn’t really have a good way to re-sell those, nor do they want to get into a fight with whatever gang for competing for sales, cutting in on territory, etc. (I’m leery of giving Tecumseh that much of a slow lob through the strike zone …) But perhaps we have contacts who could turn them into 10knY, and this just becomes in-game explanation for how we got that much cash out of a gang?

    AKA: problems of playing a Face when you the player are not a much of a negotiator!

    Beatles is slang for BTL chips, but yes, flogging them is a whole other problem.

    BTW: That should give you a hint as to which gang you are dealing with – and for what they might use the explosives 😉

    My Seattle gang lore is rusty, I’ll have to read up at some point soon. But for now Jawsey is a bit ignorant on gangs too, so … I don’t think he’ll raise objections.

    The Halloweeners, Crimson Crush, and Rusted Stilettos all deal BTLs. I suppose the Halloweeners would be the most interested in explosives. We’ll find out soon enough ICly.

    For the record, I have (loose) plans for the next Interlude, which would then flow into the next Chapter. Those plans already involve explosions, so I don’t need any slow pitches down the middle.

    I owe an IC post. If I don’t get it tonight I’ll do it tomorrow for sure.

    Doh, I forgot to remove the end of the url tags, so the post got eaten. Not going to re-copy all 12 rolls, but I’ll summarize
    – he has Spirit Whisperer, so spirits come in at 1 force higher than summoned, and he faces drain spirit successes x2 +1
    – rolls listed as J/S/D for Jawsey’s summon roll, spirit’s resistance, and Jawsey’s drain roll

    vs F3->F4
    J: 2 successes
    S: 3 succeses -> 7 drain
    D edges drain roll: 8 orokos.com/roll/779710 drain resist : 16d6h5 8

    vs F3->F4
    J: 1 success
    S: 1 success -> 3 successes
    D: 5 successes

    vs F3->F4
    J: 1 success
    S: 2 success -> 5 drain
    D: 6 successes

    vs F2->F3
    J: 2
    S: 0 (technically a crit glitch) -> drain 3 orokos.com/roll/779719 spirit resist: 2d6t5 0
    D: 3 successes

    IC post contains an obscure reference to a piece of shadowtalk from the Street Samurai Catalog.

    Sorry I’ve been off this week, been working through a cold, and apparently tired enough to not only not remember to post, but to not even remember that I hadn’t remembered to post … looks like Tecumseh kept the hand-over going smoothly though, thank you!

    Tecumseh: I smiled when I read the line about grade A bang-bang. I think it is the one thing I still remember from that book 🙂 (about the Ingram Smartgun, IIRC?)

    No, it was about the Panther. I felt a little guilty applying the line to commercial explosives instead of an assault cannon.

    Assault cannons were all the rage in 2E because they were basically one-shot kills. I don’t think I’ve had a single player use one in 3E, 4E, or 5E. Last year I even gave my players a mission in the jungle and said that they could basically use anything they wanted, but nobody brought anything larger than a grenade launcher. I was a bit disappointed.

    What’s the building like at the gallery? Tall or short, connected or standalone?

    Mato basically wants to patrol and keep watch. I imagine walking around on the roof might look a bit silly, but it’s probably a good perch. He’s in a suit so maybe it looks like the eccentricity of a rich person rather than someone up to no good. And hopefully Janet vouches for him.

    Actually, is there any angle to spy on the office window (the one with a light), or eavesdrop?

    I think, this is a good representation of what I imagine: https://www.google.de/maps/@47.602587,-122.3319969,3a,75y,308.84h,89.45t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sXfqDwRvuhfEItLj7rKK9Tg!2e0!7i16384!8i8192

    So yeah, if you want Mato can take position on the roof, or go into the alley and eavesdrop through the office window (Perception Listen test)

    Ah, I used to work 4 blocks from there! (And my wife used to work two blocks from there.) I used to go to that barbecue shop across the street for lunch. I love Pioneer Square.

    Sure, Mato will tiptoe through the alley and eavesdrop.

    Separately, it’s curious that RPG Playroom allows the https before the Google URL but not before Orokos.

    Not to derail the IC thread, but the original plan had been to go to Renton first (between the deal with the Brain Eaters in Redmond and Chau’s club in Tacoma) to investigate the van that had been stolen and then returned by the Irish Bastard to see if we could get any leads.

    I suppose there’s nothing stopping from going to Renton on the way back from Tacoma.

    Sorry Tecumseh, my fault for not checking back on the plan before posting. Anyway maybe not crazy to get rid of the card before snooping around elsewhere — this one feels like real trouble.

    Yes, there’s definitely IC logic in that approach too.
