I was assuming that Sam/Noir would need to be more or less prone (or that we’d think of her as an injured living person and treat her that way). So at least a couple of people’s worth of space.
And he may also be thinking that Sam shouldn’t be in the same vehicle as the orb …January 11, 2019 at 1:09 pm #13859
Lets keep her in the Armadillo with Becky.January 11, 2019 at 2:13 pm #13860
I forgot that we have the Armadillo too. So in terms of vehicles:
Heading to Farm:
Armadillo: Becky driving, Sam, and I think that fills it up? (just two seats, but presumably Sam could tilt hers back or something?)
Van: Jazz driving, (nobody else except her drones, since she’s already headed out).
Gaz: Al driving, artifact, Preston, Ichante
Staying in town:
Preston’s car: He’ll tell it to go park itself, again :p
Sam’ sport’s car: Leave it where it is for now.
IF there is room in the Armadillo, I’d move Ichante over there to help watch Sam. (But I’m always forgetting what sort of vehicle the Armadillo actually is and so how much room is inside)January 11, 2019 at 4:46 pm #13877
I imagine it as a mobile home kind of truck. The back of the Armadillo is set for equipment/camping. It also has a Valkyrie module which I think Noir should be placed in for treatment of her injuries.
From Rigger 5:
Just your everyday average pickup, except that this one comes with an easy-to-swap rear end. You can have a traditional cargo bed in the morning to help haul some dirt for a local gardening project and then swap it out for a sleeper with a few quick latch pops or the flip of a virtual switch. The Armadillo isn’t intended as a commuter and comes standard with solid off-road suspension and tires. The interchangeable beds are great for riggers who want to use this as a variable support vehicle. A sleeper command cabin, a workshop, a drone rack, armory, food truck, rigger cocoon, etc.—you name it, the back of the Armadillo can have a bed for it.
So how about,Ichante and Becky in the front and Noir in the rear?January 11, 2019 at 4:49 pm #13880
FYI: The cube is a former Sprinter, nearly 2.800kg, If you lift only one side, it’s still 1400kg. People can lift 15 times their strength in kg + BOD+STR successes
Becky is the strongest with 150kg native and 60kg with bought hits
Preston and Ichante each add 45 and 15 bought
Al brings 75 and 30 bought
Further, Ichante can add levitation for a force of 800kg with bought hits on Levitate
That adds a total of 1.235 kg
So if Becky employs a lever of at least two to one, you should be able to move it.
But you’ll have to provide Sam with something to pull herself out of the way.January 11, 2019 at 7:01 pm #13886
So I know a whole seating arrangement had been agreed, but now she’s ambulatory. But OOC I am still fine with boys in the Gaz and girls in the Armadillo. Whatever.
Anyway, I checked back and it was all OOC, so just ICing based on Becky’s last IC thing about sending her alone on autopilot to a doc.
But I won’t argue with any arrangement – Al’s just going to drive – who rides, rides.January 12, 2019 at 10:30 am #13891
Oh, I like Pheonix, and I hope she lives to snark another day if only for the name (although I’m still not entirely sure if she is living now …)January 12, 2019 at 10:43 am #13892
You know, that she is rather a Dark Phoenix – be really careful what you are starting here 😀January 12, 2019 at 10:52 am #13895
I was first introduced to comic books with the Dark Pheonix saga … Arranging a trip to a moon base might be over the top, but re-creating the ending there could be exciting 😉
My IC was just about Preston getting all his gear into one place, because I was getting tired of trying to remember what was where from the constant vehicle hopping.
@jack_spade Preston will be trying to hack Sam’s link, once he get’s through the vampire’s link. Does it still count as untended, or is it ‘live’ again? (I’d think the latter, except, well, …. you know)January 12, 2019 at 11:13 am #13896
Yeah, the vamp did not go to collect it again.January 12, 2019 at 2:26 pm #13899
Jack, I have to hand it to you, this run is amazingly paced. Even with all of our debates and personal conflicts, things just move too fast to breathe (that’s a compliment). From the initial detective work, we had more possible courses than we could possibly take, even splitting up. And from there it’s been one (or usually two or three) urgent things after another.
And just when things looked almost straightforward, a new wrinkle. Serious kudos.
Gilga – looks like your last post might have been in a rush.
So just to sort any fog of PbP
* Jazz has been on the way to Maria’s for a few minutes
* Noir in her car and Al & Preston in the Gaz are heading there as fast as they can
* No one but Becky knows about the recent conversation with Johnny
Also should bear in mind that
* The place he wants us to take the thing back to is over an hour away, outside of Eden
* The farm is much closer, outside San Angelo, where we are
Other issues we can work out IC – but just wanted to make sure there was no confusion about current status.January 13, 2019 at 9:42 pm #13909
Hopefully enough to see what Sam has used it for in the past couple of hours (contacted anyone, used it for navigation, taken any pictures, recorded anything)
Then on the vamp’s link
hof on vamp’s link: 17d6t5 11 (what a role! limits at six though)
link resist: 12d6t5 3
have a mark. Now try to crack the contacts.
edit file: 17d6t5 9 (what is with those roles? again limits to six)
link resist: 12d6t5 2
Anything that looks like superiors in the chain of command? (in case we end up needing to open up lines of communication)
And try to search it for correspondence or orders that look interesting:
edit file: 14d6t5 5
link resist: 12d6t5 3
Anything appear to be worth a further look there?January 14, 2019 at 3:33 am #13915
OOC because Al doesn’t know yet what Preston found, he hasn’t seen the latest message from Johnny, and he does not yet know that one vampire is still alive.
But…I don’t know if this is even possible based on driving time to the bar vs. how much time we spent helping Noir….
But suddenly Johnny wants pretty much the same thing the vampires said they wanted.
We should consider that the surviving vampire drove over and found Johnny. Then forced or influenced him to send the message. Or just stole his commlink and wrote it himself.January 14, 2019 at 4:20 am #13916
Interesting idea, but doesn’t work out, since Johnny isn’t going to go there again after fleecing some of the regulars there 😉January 14, 2019 at 4:43 am #13917
Perhaps the leecher Becky spared (which she did not tell anyone by the way), has some contacts there.January 14, 2019 at 6:02 am #13918
Well, she told Preston….
Anyway, thanks Jack for clearing that one idea off the table! (We don’t really know Johnny well enough to assume he’s that rational, so you could have let us sweat it!)
So now we have to wonder (again) if there is some weird association between these vamps and the Johnson.
I really doubt the GM’s mention of the vampire going there is all just a pure, meaningless coincidence.January 14, 2019 at 7:30 am #13920
Ah, isn’t it great when the GM makes the players truly paranoid 😝😈😆January 14, 2019 at 7:33 am #13921
Well, IC I do not see anything we can do with that information, we are hurrying to stop the end of the world and everything.
and yes, the leecher fate is no secret, but Becky did not advertise it. It should be clear to anyone that seen the wounded vampire – as there is nobody there, and Preston knows. I assume that if Al is interested he can learn that from Preston and that Noir left from a different corridor and did not see that her victim disappeared.

Preston went into hot sim almost as soon as he got into the Gaz. Now, going through the links will not take as long as the drive to the farm takes, but then the next question is whether Preston drops back into meat-space or stays in hot-sim and avoids the stress (he is a hot-sim addict). I’ll put some thought into that.January 14, 2019 at 4:58 pm #13936
Catching up now. I’m working on an IC post.
Ichante’s guardian spirit is also available to help lift the scrap cube. He’s strong (Strength 9) and can help Becky with a lever, either together or separately. Perhaps someone could pull Noir free while the spirit lifts.
I had to think for a long time why Ichante would help. I’ve decided that it will be part of her journey toward Fire-Bringer (reskinned as Ptesáŋwiŋ, a reasonably close equivalent in Lakota mythology), who insists that help be provided to those who ask. Even if Noir didn’t ask, I presume Al would have on her behalf.
