Kynos smiled for the first time with genuine enjoyment in this whole ordeal. To Al he said:
“Don’t worry about your voodoo gods, My unmagical ass will take care of the deployment. Just give me the boomstuff and I’ll take over the assembly.”

Once the team had tracked back again to the ground floor – or ground zero as Kynos already called it in his mind – he shared his thoughts: “So basically we have three phases to this encounter.

First we shove the stuff into the last airlock, I cycle the locks, shove the package in, close the door again and hit the trigger. For good measure I’ll add my remaining HE grenades. After that we take a fragging hike, because I’m pretty sure that will cause a partial cave in.

The tricky bit will be opening and closing the doors quickly enough to not let the eldritch abomination inside get the drop on us. So I’ll need Anna’s help as the only other mundane meat and metal muchacho around. The rest of you keep our escape route clear. Soka?”

Drek, I’ve missed checking in on your update.

Yeah, I can understand that feeling – when a game loses momentum it’s so hard to get it going again.
I think narrating instead of rolling the end is a better idea overall.
    I’m setting up Kynos perspective.

“Nice to get a job offer after breaking in here – it’s kinda the opposite of how my job usual goes.

Anyway, I hate wasting overhead and since I’m already here and you were friendly enough to own up to this drek, I’m inclined to accept your offer.
I think I know were that anti-magic stuff currently is – how long do we have until shit hits the fan down here? I mean, we basically climbed down the elevator shaft, but it was a really long way down.

Because the alternative would be me bundling a bunch of HE grenades with a good measure of blight and just nuke the fragger. Might damage your infrastructure a tad, but that’s the price for chunky salza.”

Kynos replied unperturbed as his payment was now secured.

Kynos shrugged: “Sure, not going to haggle with you. Didn’t know you had a soft spot for corpos.”

“Not to piss on your hopes and dreams, but we are here to deliver a message to one Trevor Kris. Your great uncle once removed is dying and wants to see you to give you your part of the inheritance.

    There.

Now, we are mercenaries for hire – I’m accepting bids for either getting you lot out of here or taking care of whatever monster you stupid cunts managed to unleash into this world.”

Kynos replied in his usual apathetic cadence.

Kynos retreated to the lock, so they could close the door and open the one on the other side.

So, what exactly is preventing us to open the next door?

Kynos stopped firing when the tide ebbed and instead began to punch the little critters as they appeared. Thanks to the DMSO/Blight on them, they proved to be highly effective to keep the critters under control.

“Get the next door. I can do that a while, but it’s getting dull after an hour or so.”

Kynos just looked a bit bored behind his visor at the sound attack:
“That all you got?” Before continuing to take pot shots at the annoying critters.

Kynos is immune to fear (burned out emotion) – fittin enough with that roll 😀

Kynos used the opportunity to shoot a few more bursts into the large toad demon things, making them explode the old fashioned way. It was a tedious task, but his thick, all encompassing armor prevented him from suffering any real damage.

Before too long he had to exchange magazines and the floor gleamed with slowly evaporating ectoplasm.

Yeah, or we could proceed with buying hits to solve this quickly (at least for the enemies)

Kynos smartly stepped out of the airlock so he was able to dodge whatever else was around here, while lining up his next shot.

Eh, call it power creep, but its one of the rare qualities exclusively for mundane characters – which is nice if you consider how often SR turns into MR (MagicRun).

And I already was able to do the same trick out of the box with the burst fire sniper rifle in core.

Kynos as the experimental gear quality from BtB.

His Ares Alpha therefore has AP -4

Bullseye Burst triples base AP. To that -4 AP from APDS is added for a total of -16AP

Which reminds me, since he uses custom rounds, the base damage is one higher, so 12 + net successes

Well, if we want to stay together we likely have to do it that way.

“I’m switching to internal air. Batshit, please open the door for me, I need to get the timing for my shot right.”

Standing well back, so he could make out the shape of the toad through the small window, Kynos took several seconds to aim.

    “Now.”
