Rebbeca says nothing but dashes Isaint, and then rapidly spins and extends her blade toward the second combatant. Skillfully, when she finishes the spin she is again in front of them. Her magical blade faintly glows from the power as it pierces the air so rapidly. Rebbeca does not really want to murder Isaint, she feels that the threat needs to be real to have any chance of working.

    Spoiler:
She has a reach of 2 – and a total of 22 dice split on multiple attacks. (before reach).

    Katana multiple attacks: 2#11d6t5 4 5

So ISaint needs to dodge 4 hit attack, while the guard needs to dodge a 5 hit attack.
    Damage is 13P -3AP

Let’s roll initiative in case we do not kill the other guard. Initative: 14+4d6 24

Becky’s splitting her attention between Isaint and the guard, whilst still maintaining the charade of being after Isaint alone, meant that the guard evaded her blow effortlessly, swaying to one side as the katana snagged the folds of his longcoat. The narrowing of his eyes suggested he wasn’t fooled by their ploy, the cyber spur that shot from his foot as he propelled it towards Isaint’s chest suggested it far more forcefully!

Rebbeca felt that she gave two very proficient blows, and the two combatants evaded. Clearly, the guard was more than a pile of cheap augmentations. She was also impressed by Isaint, taking it on like that. Understanding that it is going to require her full attention she swings the sword again first at ISaint and then at the guard, she does so with such grace that she might as well be dancing.

    Spoiler:

    Swoop: 22d6t5 10 4, 6 hits.
Forgot about the reach bonus of her Katana.
    Swoop(reach): 2d6t5 2 5, 7 hits.
5 hits for Isaint, 7 hits for attacking the guard.

Isaint’s counter move met with the unyielding force of the guy’s cyberleg and a grunted curse but if it slowed the metal monster down in any way there was no apparent sign of it! In the tight confines of the stairwell, with the metal cage of the lift filling the well there was a serious danger that Becky and Isaint would trip each other up, particularly as Becky seemed to be intent on slicing Isaint’s ear off!

<<Stop it, you fool, he isn’t buying it. We have to take him out now.>>
Isaint was barely able to formulate the message when the door man leveled his next attack on him.

Only with the barest of margins, Isaint managed to evade the two attacks. Why both his ally and the goon decided to attack him, who so far hadn’t offered violence to anyone remained a mystery to him, but right about now, he had reached the limit of his patience and so he rammed his armored fist directly into the man’s exposed mid center, hoping that the metal man had retained his guts, so he could punch the shit out of him.

Meanwhile, Ulrich was still looking at the two mindshards keeping watch. The distraction clearly hadn’t worked as intended. Attacking the fake doors behind the balcony clearly wasn’t a good idea. If anything the wall put up behind it was in better shape than the rest of the building. Thinking quickly, he released the invisibility power over him and Zag, relying on the hyperconscious illusion to keep the mindshards from seeing their true selves. Looking down the street, he spotted what he needed right away. Free of most distractions, he could employ his undivided concentration on his telekinetic powers

“On my mark, Zag. For whom the bell tolls…”

Down the street there was the faint noise of a church bell ringing, slightly out of tune. The noise grew rapidly louder as the heavy bell from Saint-Honoré-d’Eylau Church kept flying down the street at about 130 km/h, accellerating at amazing speed before slamming with a slight curving motion right into the wall next to the balcony with a noise likely able to wake the dead.

Zag looked confused at first, but as the bell came speeding closer he stepped between Ex-Gladius and the likely impact site — it seemed likely that a mage as skilled, cunning, and powerful as the German should be able to deal with most situations, if Zag could just make sure that things like explosions didn’t take him out.

Then he braced himself, half ready to resist a blast, half ready to spring through the hole that would hopefully be left in the bell’s wake.

It was close but Isaint’s vicious gut punch was turned aside at the last moment as the surprisingly agile machineman evaded the crippling blow only to have his attempt to bowl Isaint and Becky down the stairs foiled in turn as the titans continued their clash.

On the landing below two people emerged from their flat, a man and a woman dressed in casual wear. It was clear they’d heard something as they looked immediately to the altercation above them. Obviously objecting to the sight of Becky gouging the upper arm servos of the cyborg with her glistening katana they drew side arms out of shoulder rigs and the woman shouted

    “Laisse tomber tes armes!”

    ***

On the balcony Zag peered in to the gaping hole left by the divine punishment. It had clearly once been a bedroom but had been retrofitted as a drone charging station. One sleek anthroform was a crumpled mess were a few tons of cast iron force had flattened it but two other drones were disengaging themselves from their docking ports and reaching for their weapons as their menacing glowing eyes cast about for the source of their distress…

    ***

Batshit had done her best to ignore the bell whizzing overhead as the old lady was still up on the roof with her and it didn’t seem prudent to draw any further attention to their activities than necessary but damn it was hard!! Then she realised that the old dear’s muttering wasn’t as senseless as she’d first thought and that she was speaking in to a comm in the lapel of her house coat.

“You are American, oui? Come with me please” as if to emphasise her point the coat chose that moment to flap open in the night air to reveal her own side arm holstered there…

Isaint replied in the same language: “Help, I’m a courier, don’t shoot”
To Becky he sent <<We have to abort…>> At that moment the sound of a ringing bell, crashing through a nearby wall shook the small stair case.
Isaint used the distraction to disengage and drop to the ground to roll himself down the stairs and out of the reach of both Becky and the guard.

    Spoiler:
No more actions this round, just movement away from the fight. Guard might attempt an Intercept if he has 5 or more Ini left

Ulrich let go of the bell and nodded to Zag: “I take the left, you the right.”
That said, he raised his fist and fired a lightning bolt at the left drone

“F*** it” it is taking too long!” she says and activates her movement magic to move with inhuman speed following ISaint.

    >> I’ll grab you, don’t resist!

she texts, and then attempts to grapple ISaint and swing him on her shoulder. Running with impossible speed past the guards, and out of the building, they should be out of range of most sidearms before these could blink.

It wasn’t going to be elegant, and it would also lack the fury and force that Kamikaze could give him. But his second best would just have to be good enough — at least to get the attention of whoever or whatever else was in the room, to give the mage time to do his thing.

He dove through the hole, into a front roll, but from his shoulders lashed out with one leg at the drone. It wasn’t precisely aimed, perfectly timed, a clever take-down, or anything like that — but his shin was augmented by nanite created cutting edges and it was delivered with his full strength, and all his pent up frustration from the ghouls.

Despite the fact that a mere three seconds or so had passed Isaint and Becky chose to retreat rather than get embroiled in a messy confrontation in the stairwell into which more and more people seemed to be appearing…didn’t have the damn good sense to avoid a conflict…then again if the two civvies were anything to go by they certainly weren’t that, not while routinely carrying firearms – this wasn’t the UCAS after all!

Racing down the stairs they were brought up short at the secured ballistic glass door leading to the outside world. There was another access out towards the gardens but the small red indicator on the maglock showed that was also secured against their retreat…

    ***

The drones vaguely resembled sleeker versions of the Mitsuhama Honson anthrodrone, presumably a bodyguard variant, but neither were equipped to deal with the assault that Ex-G and Zag levelled at them. The noise of the crashing bell was almost nothing compared with the thunderous clap of returning air as it was vaporised by the power of Ex-G’s lightning bolt. The ozone stink was rapidly followed by burning plastics and fried circuit boards. Zag’s efforts were slightly anticlimactic in comparison but no less effective and the drone doubled over his strike and smashed back in to the charging socket…

    ***

Batshit’s unexpected rush caught the old lady spook by surprise, her skills might once have been honed but advancing arthritis and the cushy living of an observation post in a sector that never saw any action had softened them. The shockglove sent crippling energies coursing through her muscles and she dropped to the deck with a look of mild rebuke on her once fine features and a briefly whispered “merde” …

Bronwean gently lowered the still twitching lady to the floor.
“sorry” she said as she carefully rested her head on her arm.
She looked around. Down the stairs was a sure fire trip to a one way fight. She here smashing and banging coming from apartment. Staying here was no working. Her only route was over the side and into the garden. She dropped easily down the three floors to the next roof below and then the final three to the garden. Seeing beccie and Isant the other side of the door. She smiled and waved. She pullecout her card and got to work on the door.

“Cover me, its a trap. No way they can bring so many combatants in seconds.” Said Rebbeca and connected her deck to the lock. >> Kit. Hack. Fast.
    >> I am always fast, try to keep up. said the arrogant agent.

As the agent begun analyzing the interfaces of the lock, Rebbeca did her face to identify opportunities for hacking and avoid the firewall.

Isaint didn’t mind being picked up by women… but he prefered dinner and a movie.
“No time for that.” A miniwelder appeared in his hand even as Becky produced her hacking device. Two quick cuts and the door fell open.

Bronwean had her sequencer pluged in and buzzing, it flicked up the access code. Just as the door fell in to two halves
“WOW!” she exclaimed “they really make things on the cheep here” in Cali she would have been burning at a door for a good ten minutes to make a hole. Off course now they had the problem of not being able to lock it to keep the bad guys inside
“Ok you go secure the exit route, I’ll hold them here”

Isaint, Becky and Batshit momentarily had time to take stock of their situation in the abrupt lull. The sounds of battle dimly filtered down from the fifth floor and they were conscious that at least two of their companions were still inside facing whatever was in there. If there was any sign of pursuit or a drawing off of enemy forces there wasn’t any sign of it yet…but then only a few seconds had elapsed since they hit the building

    ***

Ex-G took in the scene in a matter of moments…the ritual seemed to have ended prematurely, which was just as well as it had removed the astral barrier surrounding it, but as they hadn’t been particularly subtle in their entrance the three waiting mages didn’t seem overly shocked to see him. The three were as disparate as any group of mages, although the rumpled corp chic was common to all of them. The one nearest to Ex-G was a manicured troll who even in the tall ceilinged room looked like he might need a respirator due to the altitude. The staff he held pulsed with magic to Ex-G’s othersight.

A ponderously fat human squeaked as Ex-G burst in and promptly turned himself invisible whilst the last, a dwarven female of indeterminate age looked scornful at the intrusion, particularly when the lightning started flowing but washed up against her prodigious spell defences…

The artefact itself was being held aloft in the centre of the circle by a spinning vortex of air maintained by an elemental spirit of considerable power.

Once more the air stank of ozone as Ex-G let rip with the force of un-nature, only to have his spells either miss or be ground out completely by the defensive magics of the foe…

“this place is surrounded by other groups, I’ve already had a run in with on lot up there” she pointed up to the roof garden “there were two other teams outside”
    She started to get agitated
“are we going after that thing? One of use could ride up in the elivator while the other two keep it occupied?”
She started jump up and down in slow dramatic fashion “come on guys, we need to do something”
