    @adamu

Sorry about using that tactic, but it’s nearly impossible to prevent the spirit from avoiding the grenade – Al will also have to make a resistance test against Blight with Bod+Wil or lose all adept abilities for 12-Magic hours

I am curious as to how Dream was able to summon when in mist form. I am under the impression that I cannot do anything in that form. Have I missed something about vampires and mist form, or is there something special about Dream that allows him to do this?

    Evil GM Deus Ex ?

Edit: rules say can’t use any critter powers so I’m comfortable allowing summoning in this one off case ?

    @Jack_Spade

no problem – most of my adept abilities are turned off right now anyway! By the way, I’m also turning off Supernatural Toughness.

    A few points to clarify.

I guess by the word “immobilize” in the Binding description that you guys are interpreting that as “paralyze”?
I got the sense that it just means you can’t go anywhere.
But you’re saying, no movement at all – no actions, no defense, nothing?
    How about talking? Finger actions?

Would appreciate a clarification on that!

Anyway, ten dice to get 9 hits?
Here are three tries – the first when it attacks on 22, then on my actions on 21 and 11.
    Nothing to lose.
    three resists vs. binding: 3#10d6t5 7 3 2
Almost made the first one – but looks like getting out of this would mess up Jack’s plan.

So then it does this thing on 7. It gets 11 hits, minus the 4-hit threshhold, so dividing 7 hits into 60 seconds it will take it about nine seconds (three full combat turns) to get an Essence out of me.

In the meantime, I resist the Blight.
    Resist Blight w/pre-Edge: 19d6h5 8
So that’s me unaffected by the Blight.

I thought that essence drain was a threshold number per minute?

    Sian’s initiative. Initiative: 15+3d6 26

I do not know the force of the spirit. I hope that it is not F18 or worse.

We’re back to D free with the demise of the blood spirit… I don’t require rolls for escaping the disastrous situation you find yourselves in… just RP it out please 🙂

Of course trying to aid any of the would be sacrifices will penalise your attempts to get out so just bear that in mind! The child Dream had isn’t the only one in here…some difficult choices to make!!

I know that we are back to diceless, but anyone tossing F20 spells about ought to be checking on drain.

    Casting F20 Fireball. Drain at F-1 = 19d6. Drain: 19d6t5 5

    Resist Drain = 20d6. Resist Drain: 20d6t5 4

Sian will take 1S for the Fireball.

    Casting F20 Shape Stone. Drain is F-2 = 18d6. Drain: 18d6t5 6

    Resist Drain = 20d6. Resist Drain: 20d6t5 6

No drain for the Shape Stone.

I added the last paragraph to my IC post after checking to see about the drain for the spells.

Is there any way to improve our Immortal characters?

Cool, thank you. This adventure has shown me that I did not plan as well as I could have.

Trying to determine what Sian sees when she peeks out of the air shaft she created. They should be near the start of the ramp going up to the surface. Do I just assume all is OK and they can proceed up the ramp?

Yes that’s fine you are clear to the surface and escape… moving away from the kaer the free spirit will actually speed you on your way!

No sign of Dream though, that’s a pleasure for another day! ?

Hmmmm… just considering Lofwyr’s response to finding a lost blood cult in Aztlan… Thor shot possible? @Jack_Spade, how accurate was your report? Down to geo coordinates? You might want to leave the area???

The report was as detailed as Vindariel could make it. But a Thor shot would need a two thirds majority from the corporate court.
I’d expect a more conventional ballistic solution with a few bunker busters.
Still, a good reason to clear the area.

Just checking that you got the bit about there being 1000 plus voices down there still right? Now granted they can’t all be blood worshipping magic users, where would they get their victims from? but there are still a good portion of blood adepts down there and you didn’t wipe out the whole of the priesthood… it is highly highly unlikely that any stragglers will still be alive when you get back down there. The foe may be primitive but that doesn’t lesson their effectiveness in combat in a place they know intimately! The Vory soldiers are good, no doubt, but this is a warrior subculture that makes the Azzies look like pussy cats!

Yupp, which is why it’s almost certainly a suicide mission to go back in there.
Which is why Vindariel doesn’t want to take any more NPCs down.

In practical terms, I agree with the idea that this is perhaps a fruitless mission. However, both Sian and Alyce have been developed with a great feeling of responsibility to the people they take with them on their expeditions. They would not want to leave people behind. When the main group was making its way to the ramp, there were still sounds of distant gunfire, indicating that some of the stragglers were still alive. Alyce cannot just leave them if there is a chance to recover anyone and Sian respects that as one of her main qualities and will accompany her.

As for the soldiers, that is something that just comes with the territory when people are loyal to each other. Alyce has limited the escort to three soldiers and all of them understand that they are risking their lives for maybe no gain, but it is important to the soldiers that they be allowed to be represented.

I am sorry of this is against what others believe and against what is very good advice.

I admit there is also a meta reason for having Vindariel say that: Having lots of NPCs doing our job is not only confusing for the GM, but it also takes away from the idea of playing one character, as it turns this from an adventure into a strategy game with troup movements.
