Recruitment SR6

Ok, I’ll admit I haven’t finished reading the rules yet (and I don’t expect anyone else to have done so either) but I thought it was about time we started a thread to record who might or might not be interested in playing/GMing a game of 6 (I’m throwing my hat in the ring for both).

For reference the Excel character generator file I’ve been working on can be found here: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1HgUQPBL9C4PuZbDv7Kc9F_jvt11hQ25p it’s no substitute for the CRB but you lot are familiar enough with SR that you should be able to use it to come up with a PC even without the rules ๐Ÿ™‚

I have a simple but annoying scenario I have wanted to run for years but it’s one off to tinker with the system, I’m going to be having family issues soon so won’t have much time to gm when it all kicks off

I’m up for the trial. Character is most likely going to be an Ork Phys-Adept

As a player Iโ€™d probably use either the somewhat reduced Lily that I posted on SG or introduce Charlie (that you met briefly in FA), a changeling adept ?… although sheโ€™s an โ€˜elfโ€™ by the rules…

@Electric_Muppet: do you want to jump in to GMing straight away or hold off until your RL is more settled?

This is a fun one shot just to shake out the rule. I would recommend pregen from the book

Damn. IRL just caught up with me. The school has just called our first meeting so that me out of GMing for now

Ok, no problem, RL always trumps RP. @Adamu, @Beta, you guys up for this? A team of 3-4 PCs is probably perfect for learning the ropes!

I’m in to play. Gm’ing will be too much right now. I’ll save it for another day

Haven’t even looked at it yet, I’m afraid.

Told my FLGS not to call me until they had a second printing with the errata sorted, and who knows when that’ll be. And can’t bring myself to break my neck and eyes reading it off of a PDF….if all that sounds like a lot of excuses, maybe it is. Just not feeling it with the shift to SR6.

Some say good things. Most say bad. But when I look at the specific comments, I hear lot of things I hate, and not a single thing that makes me excited.

Maybe i just need a break or something.

Well don’t flog it if you’re not feeling the love! Perhaps read through our playtest (will suggest we put all rolls in spoilers in the IC so no jumping back and forth) and see if that inspires…or not! Hopefully you’re still here with us for SR5, don’t know what we’d do without Al!!! ๐Ÿ™‚

@Jack_Spade & @Electric_Muppet… & @ anyone else interested… if you’d like to start a character that’d be great. Happy to avoid the matrix for the first test run unless someone’s desperate to play a TM or decker??

I’m getting to it tomorrow evening – hopefully.

    @adamu
A test game like the one for anarchy would at least clear up any doubts ๐Ÿ˜‰

So I build a char, but haven’t written down its backstory yet.

Right now I’m really loathing the new system. It forces me to play a mys adept even if I want to play a phys adept, unless I want to start with only one or two power points.
Not to mention that the skill reduction means I can’t actually get all the skills I need anymore and instead a lot of stuff I don’t actually want.
But maybe I need to train up on my system mastery to make that work…

Happy to add the house rule that adepts can use adjustment points to get starting power points! Also that you can bond foci at char gen. Skills work out cheaper karma wise now as you get a bundle deal…

Yeah, but that bundle contains stuff I don’t need, but at the same time I have fewer points overall, so I can’t spread them into all the different groups I need (no taking first aid without also being a surgeon, no relying on just a handgun – you always are a sniper too)

Sadly, I have no bandwidth to get into another mechanic. If you guys like it a lot I’ll buy the book and learn it though. My gut feeling/a bit of review I read is that that book is yet another poorly edited piece of work.

I’m in the same boat as Gilga. As I’d replied in message to Aria I’d love to, but I’m not really keeping up with my current games already.

Aria suggested that Forbidden Aegis will wrap up before this game starts, so that maybe changes things for me.

Yeah, it will probably be a hooding โ€˜runโ€™ preferably without a huge amount of matrix stuff (save that for run 2) as a quick intro. And definitely once FA is wrapped up

But I just got into Bronwean ?
