Just pistols for Lily… ARs aren’t really close quarters weapons and she doesn’t have one with her anyway ?. Rifle wouldn’t be great in tight underground conditions either
-
If you want to go talk to others in his unit, or to check his unit, go ahead. Else let me know if you are heading to the mine head, or something else.
-
Kynos has both rifle (bullpup) and handgun with him – as well as his backpack
Considering what the jantior said, I think we are heading for the mine?
So, who of us wants to say “Melon”?
-
I’m not sure I do either so she’s in good company ?
-
Lord of the Rings, Gandalf opening the Mines of Moria I believe ?
-
I didn’t know the reference either.
Sorry for delayed response.
Remember that Al and Becky (and Becky’s high grade agent) have offered to secure the top side of the elevator, or otherwise watch your back (at least until close to dawn). Should you request it.

Don’t know if Beta is a mean enough GM to start throwing environmental modifiers at us (I would :D) so Lily is going to strip down and hope to avoid combat (yeah right!)… her body can act as a shield for the others if necessary 😛
-
Are just dumping any year we can’t fit under these paper jumpsuits or are we going to leave someone in the changing room?
-
If we do it would be Kynos to stay behind (and improve your ability to talk your way out of things)
But I’d imagine there to be a row of non dedicated lockers for just that purpose.
-
I am (read the character) is nervous about getting back to the fire power.if we go the lily and batshit go in and Kynos hangs back ready to bring the pain (both metaphorically and physical)
Going to sort the dish washer then post
In other new my son wants to play Starfleet battles ,so happy
-
Environmental modifiers? If you are active down here long enough, for sure.
Starfleet battles, it took me a minute to dredge the association out of my memory? Is that the board game loosely based on the Star Trek races/ships? I have memories of a friend continually killing me with federation cruisers that could fly backward while using superior long-range weaponry, but it is also possible that I just wasn’t very good at it.
Or is there a new game by that title?
-
No that’s the one. And your “friend” was no friend to put you through the Jarman retrograde it is unwinnable, and hypothetical. Games need victory conditions, challenge him to be federation in ”nothing remain s but to fight”
-
Eh, this was back when we were in university. Typical nerd flex on his part. I did have fun building some crazy ships and strategies. Doing cool things to do with the ship design rules gave me satisfaction, and I recognized that his fun was showing tactical superiority, so it kind of worked out. If we’d played more I would have insisted on actually using one of the scenarios instead of a free-style skirmish, but I think we only ever found time to do it about four times.
The good news is that he has taken to using his competitiveness and intellectual chops for good these days, and we are still (slightly distant) friends, decades later.

Per my last IC (up a couple of posts), after the decontamination room, there is the option of heading towards the experiment that Bobby was on, or heading to the rest of the area. I’m assuming heading down the corridor towards where you expect him to be.

I realized that the next several rooms were not at all interesting enough to play through in PBP, so I zipped through the next several rooms until Lilly and Batshit see something that they need to react to.
The one thing to fill in is what they do about the loss of matrix connection — once there is a couple of those doors shut, they pretty much lose their matrix connection back. On the other hand, they haven’t seen anyone so far, so inviting Kynos to come closer may not be crazy?
-
Sounds reasonable to me… will try and get an IC up on Monday 🙂
-
Just to make sure everyone is on the same page:
– the team is in a room about 4 meters square. Not much in it, other than as described in the IC.
– the background count is -6 (i.e. a BG of 6, but defined by the lack of mana, nobody gets a bonus or can be acclimatized)
– I’d forgotten to mention that the little chambers between rooms seem to adopt the background level of whichever room they are opened to. If the alternating (and growing) positive and negative mana patter continutes, the upcoming chamber is likely currently at a high positive background (excess mana), but when you open the door the mana will presumably quickly drop to match the room that the characters are in.
Kynos is opening the door, where are the other two? And while we are at questions like that, please roll init.

RIght behind Kynos, trying to get an IC out soon…
