Ah by the way:
Did my epic 10 success Con(Fast Talk) roll have any positive effect at all? (Beside Cid not blowing us up immediately – that’s always a plus 😉 ) -
It did…briefly, and then his gear blew up and he got pissed again! 😀
-
Okay – so I’ll assume that he doesn’t shoot anyone before we melee him because his weapon got bricked just as he was about to use it…..
Will try to sort out my initiative on the Simulator and update and do my melee attack sometime this evening.
If other people want to work out the guy getting attacked by his former friends in the meantime, don’t wait around for me!!!!!
-
Had a quick go at updating the combat simulator, see what you think!
-
So this Cid guy was starting to listen to ISaint’s logic when Robyn slagged his PAN? Wow, so if we all die it is her fault.
Anyway, Robyn obviously cannot defend against the grenade, so can someone roll her soak for me, please? Hopefully, she is still able to toss around a few Data Spikes to try to brick his weapons before he can shoot anyone.
-
@Mercy – without studying your sheet in minute detail, I put your soak pool against this attack at 17 dice.
flashbang soak: 17d6t5 2
I guess that’s what happens when you let other people push the Orokos button for you.
That will mean eight boxes of stun damage….a point of Edge would let you roll 15 more dice….
-
Okay, never mind, `Mercy – checked out the updated Combat Simulator and Aria has now ruled Alyce outside the blast radius.
And near as I can tell, everyone but Alyce was chatting/holding until 9, which means we take that action and then it goes to the next Combat Turn.
(Alyce was busily bricking during the chat, so after the commlink, the Simulator gives you chances to brick two more things – you’ve already said primary weapon, and I think you get one more).Otherwise, there are Sammy and Adept attacks to be resolved, and then, although Al will be at melee distance with Cid, at least Alyce and Rick go first, and maybe others.
So fluffwise Al is trying to crack the guy’s head open with his shotgun butt, gamewise I’ll wait until those that go before me have actions (and yes, I am tired so yes I am fobbing the Sammy shot at Cid off on Jack…..he’ll milk those dice pools much better than I could!).
-
Hey, any of us can have a crappy roll. That is what Edge is for, right? She would have used a point to reroll that, but it looks like I do not need to. Phew! Robyn is trying to brick as much as she can. With the primary weapon down, she might go for his contacts, as them going all filmy as they shut down could impact his vision.
-
May I suggest you prioritize attacking his trode net too?
It’s the one piece of gear that allows him to trigger stuff as a free action if he has a backup commlink.
With your fork running you can also target his wired reflexes: He had to keep them online so they would work in combo with his reaction enhancers – and now he likely hasn’t had the time to deactivate them.
Having electronic firing in your weapon is seriously bad if you don’t have a DNI to actually use it.Isaint Ini for the second round: Ini Round 2: 16+4d6 33
Abe (Samurai) Ini Round 2: 15+3d6 23
Bea (Adept) Ini Round 2: 13+4d6 32
Cid (Samurai) Ini Round 2: 15+3d6 25Isaint won’t bother to get up, but fire at the adept in melee (insofar as Cid is still operational after Al’s attacks
If I see this right, Cid hasn’t had a chance to act since Al shot at him.
Robyn is first and – if she follows my advice will drop Cid’s ini and defense significantly by taking out his reaction enhancement. With that in mind, Isaint aims and shoots again at the hapless Cyberguy:
Shoot (Vitals): 18d6t5 7 [18d6t5=6, 5, 3, 4, 6, 4, 1, 6, 3, 5, 2, 5, 2, 4, 3, 3, 6, 2]
Cid is on full defense: (I’m assuming without his Rea bonus): Defense: 19d6t5 7
Grazing hit, which due to being SnS is still a hit
I assume that he won’t risk a soak roll, so he spends some more edge: Defense edge reroll: 12d6t5 4
Evaded.
Cid’s Ini is at 25-10(Full defense)-4(losing reaction bonus)=11 -
Ok, so Rick resists with 3+15-4D… given the spells he’s sustaining etc we’ll say he’s not jumping back out of sight, 4 hits so he takes 6 boxes of stun, then let’s say composure to hang on to all those spells (CW+Invisx4…) and that’s -1D…hmmm well let’s just remove spells from the equation shall we as Obi doesn’t seem to be around at the moment…
I resolved Abe’s attack on Cid… and nada, damn armour lol
So it’s on to Al and Bea in melee with Cid… and then Abe can do something in this phase too…will let Al roll first, to the PCs the glory!
Combat Sim updated!
-
Invisibility x4?
Wow, playing in too many games.
Are we all invisible? I thought that was in the wacky immortals game…..so there are five of us in this game…which one is not invisible?
As for glory to the PCs, not likely much for Al from meleeing this guy – but hopefully can ding his Edge pool a little…
-
Silk asked Rick to drop her invisibility so she could talk to the AI
-
Okay so I’ll pre-edge Al’s shotgun butt attack, with a center penalties and call shots to vitals.
Add in some things and I end up with 22 dice.
hit cid in head: 22d6h5 10With the Chaotic world gone but him having dodged a previous attack since his last action I put his full-defense roll at 18 dice.
defend against Al: 18d6t5 4That leaves Al with 6 net hits added to a base 10P. He can probably soak all that with one Edge, so he won’t use Edge on the defense, as it isn’t as big a pool as the soak pool.
So he soaks 16 with 28 dice.
soak Al’s melee attack: 28d6t5 11
So that would leave him with 5 stun – a palpable enough hit he’ll Edge it as expected.
reroll soak fails: 17d6t5 8
So scrapes by with no damage, but Edge pool now down to 2.So then Bea attacks. Pre-edging her (if I can spend it then so can she, plus she needs lots of successes with her low base damage, so needs to get around her physical limit).
I add her bonuses and so forth to come up with a pool of 26 for this attack.
attack cid: 26d6h5 13With having dodged yet another attack, Cid’s defense is down to 17 dice.
def against bea: 17d6t5 4
Leaves her with 9 net successes. But his best use of Edge is still on his soak re-roll.soak bea’s attack: 28d6t5 16
Ouch – he soaked it all without using Edge.
So good job dumb old adept girl – you didn’t even scratch off one of his two remaining Edge. (But she’s down to 3 edge, if it ever becomes relevant!). -
@Invisibility
We dropped that after the infirmary – wasn’t necessary anymore and Rick has channeled an Air Spirit for it’s electricity aura. Incidentally that gives him pain resistance too.
But for easier handling, I’d say too we leave him out of it for the moment
Once Abe has done his thing, Cid will have an action – hopefully not one where he tries to doomsday us all ^^
-
I agree with jack and will do the forked attack as recommended. I keep forgetting about the fork.
-
If it hasn’t already been done can someone update the CS please? Don’t have time myself this evening sorry… ?
-
Updated as best I could.
Specified that the bricking was of Cid’s trode rig, since Mercy said would follow Jacks’s advice.
On more careful review of past expenditures, corrected Bea’s Edge pool – use the simulator, not my earlier OOC post.
Cid is next.
I thought of resolving an attack on Al, but given his predicament he may do something besides straight up combat…..IF he attacks Al, then I will trigger full-d and here is my roll.
maybe full d if Cid attacks: 27d6t5 11 -
YIKES!
Well, figured it would come to this against Mr. Armor – looks like some sort of grapple/subduing thing is called for, but will have to get home to my books to make sure I do it right….post in six hours or so….
-
Is Cid’s armored suit wireless in any way? Is the grenade wireless?
-
Not as such, no doubt there are various wifi bits involved but bricking those won’t render him immobile or anything…
And no, the grenade isn’t wireless 😀
