Gilga – ditto all that, dude.

We’ll move things along for a while. Hopefully you’ll be back in time for when things get crazy!!!

It’s been crazy couple of months, every few weeks/month suddenly a day of battle with hundreds of rockets (700 this time) then 24 days after nothing, back to routine – but we all fear the last big fight that was 4.5 years ago and placed us in such a reality for almost two months. This time with little children the tension of knowing that every second you may need to grab your toddler and run for safety is insane. I really hope that the goverment will figure something out.

    Ouch, cross posted with Beta.

Not much collision content-wise. I’ll edit now to make the flow better.

This is almost comical: four shadowrunners, zero points in the Intimidate skill! (as far as I could see in a quick look at the character sheets). Where is Forty when I need her?

For social skills, Preston can toss 11 dice on Etiquette (13 if I take the plunge now and buy Social Chameleon, which is on my shopping list), but he has 4 dice on Con and Negotiate, and 2 on Intimidate. As I said IC, I don’t think he can extract this information through Etiquette; it is decent at getting information that is semi-public, but not so much at getting people to reveal stuff that is truly secret.

Rebecca had 15 dice in Con, so going that route might work? To elaborate a bit on what I said IC, do something like offer a million nuyen for his return — but don’t let them consult anyone else or try to broker it. Pin them down until they admit that they don’t have him, then hope that greed prompts them to say they could tell us something about the people who hired them.

Preston has a contact who is a high end drug dealer. So things like Laes could be used to knock out their memories, or Gamma-Scopoline (spelling?) could be used to reduce their willpower to make them more susceptible to improvised intimidate? (knocks them out for an hour, they wake up tied up, people in ballistic masks and carrying knives and soldering irons are threatening them, might work even with weak dice pools)

I’m totally open to handling this other ways. Just brainstorming based on our actual abilities.

ETA: just thought there might be a hacking solution? But I’d think his abductors would leave as little trail as they could, and they obviously have a decent decker on staff.

I think gave Rebbeca a few levels of intimidation after the events of Jack’s previous game I will update OP.

Might as well do a Matrix Search on these guys, using the literature we found to generate search parameters, and especially focused on connections between the movement and specific metatypes, particularly immortal elves, spike babies, changelings, etc.

I think we met with the Johnson around noon (after going to the house in the morning)? So assuming that we book the joygirls for more toward evening, I figure that should be enough time for Preston to get at least the relevent parts of Knowledge skill (academic): UCAS Law up to 1 (advantages to 14 dice on memory tests would presumably include being able to cram knowledge skills).

He may have to put some more hours into it later to round things out, but I’m going ahead to give him Law: 1.

Lily has some spare karma to learn intimidate skills too… seems appropriate! Will try and finally get some IC up tomorrow ?

[Jack, I kept Preston’s IC vague on what he is doing about their electronics because I don’t know what, if anything, he might have to be dealing with. He’s sitting in hot-sim, but if they have something like an internal comm-link slaved to a strong host, that could be a difficulty. If not I think he should have all the time he needs to own their electronics and make sure they are not recording or broadcasting.

Matrix perception to pick up anything running silent: matrix perception: 14d6t5 4 (not sure if there is an ‘observe in detail’ equivalent for the matrix?)

This is my interpretation of how to interrogate people using the seduction skill 😉

High end hotel and a couple of premium joygirls — call it a grand each for ease of accounting?

And I had Preston confirm that they’d be paid because we don’t need to slot their employers off any more than we already have, especially if we want more info from them.

Starting to find Lily’s voice after re-watching various Alita trailers for inspiration 🙂

I was writing my post in another window, so by the time I posted Jack, Adam, and Gilga had all dropped posts …. but I think I can leave it as is. Preston does cover some of the same ground as Becky, but he is not above being pedantic about things at times.

I’d mis-remembered the recruitment meeting as being that evening. Given some time Preston will head home — I’ll put up a quick IC post.

Beta said Preston was going home for the night.

I left mentions of Becky and Lily out of my last post – don’t know what you’re doing for the night, but assumed you didn’t want to sleep in the van or anywhere else with Al (he snores).

Actually as Lily came in Al’s van, doesn’t have her own transport with her, and isn’t about to take the bus home to Orting she will be sitting in the front cab when Al wakes up in the morning… don’t worry, it’s part of her charm that Al forgets completely about her 🙂

Edit: as I sort of foisted that on you, if it doesn’t fit Al in any way (he’d never forget about a girl in his cab?!?) then let me know and we can work out an IC modification!

    😀

No no no – it is great.
Fits with how she’s been since he met her, all detached and there/not there. And with your wider meta-narrative as well.

    mingling etiquette before the talk:

and to note that I just picked up the ‘social chameleon’ quality for Preston.

    @Jack_Spade

Al’s no expert on terrarforming or low-gravity engineering, but still…to him, do all these engineering schematics look technically reasonable?

Not sure what to roll, but I’ll take a shot with industrial engineering.
