@Mercy, pretty sure cleansing affects your foci, so that will be a lvl 1 in this bc but as that omits 36d in armour that’s more than worth it!

Don’t forget hardened armour will also give 11 auto hits vs your whip… it is unlikely that you’ll damage it sorry… that’s why Shrike or magic is the way to go (and magic is nerfed by the bc!) ?

The warrior priests on the other hand are much squishier! Swamped by work, will try to wrap my head round this combat as soon as I can!

    Two things:
Base AP of the Monowhip is 8, so two iterations of the quality would bring that up to AP 12, so you’d need the additional Prototype Materials quality to take the third Special Modifications quality for a total of AP 14
More important: The defense pool of such a spirit would be around 40 as well not to mention them going full defense for 60+
Likewise their surprise resistance dicepool is around 40, so practically guaranteed not to be surprised

Those things are almost impossible to beat – which is why I left a packet of four HE grenades in the tunnel who combine to a a total of 40 P AP-5 + whatever damage reflection the walls can offer – which is likely to bring the tunnel down as well.

Ok, making a stab at this, I haven’t found stats for the blood priests / warriors that I’m happy with, if anyone has anything suitable feel free to post it! Heavy on the magic but otherwise tech free. Note the drummers and other ritual participants have all been frozen by Dream’s howl, only 3 metahumans still moving, elf, orc and human… I doubt they will be more than a speedbump to you lot but Dream and the spirit offer different challenges 😀

    Freebie Action
Shrike enters the blood dome (dropping grenades)

    Initiative
    *1.1*
BS [ 43 ] Focused on getting at Shrike, not technically surprised but won’t attack this round
    Dream [ 33 ] Observing Shrike
Al [ 32 ] Al charges the first blood spirit & dispatches it back to its metaplane
Shrike [ 28 ] Intending to shoot blood priest
    Sian [ ? ] Knife attack on spirit ??
Robyn [ ? ] Whip attack on remaining spirit – no damage
    Blood Priest [ ? ]
    Warrior Adept 1 [ ? ]
    Warrior Adept 2 [ ? ]

    *1.2*
BS [ 33 ] Noxious ‘blood’ breath on Al, Sian and Robyn (assuming not summarily dispatched beforehand)
    Dream [ 23 ]
    Al [ 22 ]
    Shrike [ 18 ]
    Sian [ ? ]
    Robyn [ ? ]
    Blood Priest [ ? ]
    Warrior Adept 1 [ ? ]
    Warrior Adept 2 [ ? ]

Note, the ‘portal’ in to the blood dome is a free standing arch not a tunnel…

    Blood Spirit
    B A R S W L I C M ESS EDG
    F+2 F+2 F F+2 F F–1 F F F F F/2
    Physical Init. (F x 2) + 2D6
    Astral Init. (F x 2) + 3D6
Skills Assensing, Astral Combat, Perception, Running, Unarmed Combat
Powers Astral Form, Binding, Energy Drain (Essence,Touch, Physical Damage), Fear, Materialization, Concealment, Confusion, Guard, Movement,
Natural Weapon (DV = (Force) Physical Damage, AP —), Noxious Breath
Weaknesses Essence Loss (1 point per day)

Ah, gotcha, missinterpreted that. In that case the grenades won’t be that effective.
Still, one thing: Adrenaline Surge makes Shrike go first, so the priest either needs to spend Edge to go first himself (which I could counter by spending Edge myself) or he’ll have trouble getting away from Shrike.

    Noxious Breath discussion

A super scary attack with the potential to drop us all in our tracks. Base 18 power plus its net hits – and if we don’t resist ALL of it, the Nausea will take us down anyway.
But up against a Force 18 spirit, I don’t mind continuing in the letter of the rules….

    1) First let’s resolve Sian and Alyce’s attacks on it. If you guys can even wound it, that will take away from its successes with the breath attack.

    2) The Noxious Breath attack can only be used on up to two targets at a time – care to name two victims, Aria?

    3) The good news is that Blood Spirits don’t have the Exotic Ranged Weapon skill, so it defaults. That still gives it 19 dice for the attack!

Go get him, Sian and Alyce!!!

Hm, I just reread my gear – turns out I took the Grey mana integration for my new FBA – which acts like 6 extra dice against all magic attacks and effects. Shrike might actually survive that.

Also time to shoot a bit:

    Flechette Salvo at remaining priest:
    Simple Aim
Simple Short FA Salvo Flechette, Narrow Spread
    Short FA Salvo: 19d6t5 7
    -6 to defense DV 15P

Provided he dies, Shrike spends a free action on Ammo Select
    Simple Aim
Simple Short FA Salvo Capsule Rounds (Blight+DMSO) at Blood Spirit:
    Short FA Salvo: 19d6t5 7
-6 to defense (should it even consider bullets to be a threat) DV 9P + Net successes
    Delivers Blight toxin: Power 12
When combined with DMSO, blight gains a
contact vector. When an Awakened character is
exposed to this combination of DMSO and blight,
they must make a Drain Resistance test in place of
a Toxin Resistance test vs. the power of the toxin.
Damage taken is treated as Stun Drain. Any spirits
exposed to this combination cannot apply immu-
nity to normal weapons to the damage dealt by
    these weapons.

In answer to 2… Al and Sian are by definition the closest to it…and Al has internal air doesn’t he?? 🙂

Robyn’s whip failed to damage, it just has too many dice 😛

@Jack_Spade… I’m assuming the shot on the spirit is in 1.2? After Sian’s knife attack and any breath attack?

Feel free to roll its resists, you have the stats!

@Aria – right, about the Internal Air – I’ve got it if you’ll allow me to turn it on without an intervening action. I never thought to turn it on before coming in.

To be fair, I was thinking if you’d let me use this:
    LUCKY COVER
The target can spend Edge to find a fortunate chunk of cover—maybe ground thrown up by a grenade ex- plosion, or a rolling industrial barrel, or an extra large wandering devil rat. The cover can provide a place to hide during Suppressive Fire or provide a Defense Test bonus for cover during a regular attack. This use of Edge even provides a chance at cover during Enhanced Suppression or Flechette Suppressive Fire.

In the SPIRIT of that rule, I’d be happy to spend the Edge to – instead of grabbing cover – getting my Internal Air on…..

(and I also need to add my Natural Immunity power of now that the BCG is up to 14)

Sounds fair to me! And it will be 17D for the breath attack as I changed the force to 18! Aren’t I nice ?

Cool – still rooting for Sian’s attack, but that will save me getting nailed by the breath.

No doubt it has plenty of other evil tricks up its sleeve!

Since Sian’s attack comes before the breath, i’ll definitely wait for that attack to be resolved before making another move.

    Blood Spirit:
    Soak: 20d6t5 2
Surprisingly enough, it actually takes damage from the blight
    14 P
Fills up 14/18 of it’s health
and forces a toxin resistance test at the end of the round:
    Defense: 36d6t5 10
Takes 2 Stun and -4 to all actions
    -3 through wound mods

I might have made this spirit a bit angry now…

Ooops, yes, the total AP is -12, not -14. Sorry that I cannot do the simple math of 8+4! My brain is not really functioning very well at all, right now. So the whip attack completely fails. What a shame, but I suppose that Alyce did not really expect a F18 spirit. Rats.

OK, here is Sian’s first knife attack. Pre-Edge to bypass accuracy limit.

    Knife Attack: 22d6h5 10

The damage is 13P and AP-3. The BGC, modified by her Cleanse still allows her the +4 STR for her quickened Ghoulish Strength spell.

The spirit gets 17d6 to soak the damage. Soak: 17d6t5 2

Not a good roll for the spirit. Unless I am wrong, Sian’s attack does 11P damage. Please let me know if this looks right.

If the damage from Sian was effective the spirit should be dead. right? If not, are we not protected against the breath attack by the FBA and the gas mask in the helmet? I will post to the IC as soon as someone can verify if I am correct in Sian’s attack or not.

No AP since the spirits are soaking with body alone, so it’s 20 dice.
Also, since you are in close combat, the spirit will likely try to evade your knife attack.
    Defense: 35d6t5 7

OK, so she gets 3 net hits. That would bring the damage to 16, right?

    I re-rolled soak with 20d6. Soak: 20d6t5 8

The spirit takes 8P damage. I think that means that the Blight should kill it. Am I correct this time?
