I’m totally up for an interlude 🙂

More important though, how much money are we going to make from that in total and how much Karma did we earn (Bobby is up for an initiation in the run I’m going to run and needs to pay off another piece of his debt before that)

I was just sharing some thought processes about the security — The Hostel started off just as a place to potentially have a crowd of bystanders around when dealing with a possession mage, but over time a lot of its collective ecosystem built up in my head 🙂

I’d be happy to have an interlude. If it is anything like the last one they will help to keep us hungry and humble :p (seriously, it is the day to day difficulties of life in the barrens that can get skipped over in SR campaigns, because PCs will come out well from most runs if the campaign is going to keep running).

I’ll have to dig up the exact payouts offered by your Johnson, and we need to IC what to do with the bayonet and the painting/frame.

Interlude is fun, let’s do it.

I have a big report due on Thursday so an Interlude wouldn’t start before the end of the week at the earliest.

I don’t know how Beta wants to wrap up Chapter III, whether it will be a montage IC post or if he wants to role play it out.

I’m pretty happy to summarize and let people post any wrap up comments that they have. Hoping to get to that summary post tonight (got distracted last night by the election up here. Why I thought watching numbers flick up and down was a better idea than doing ShadowRun I now have no idea, but it seemed like a good idea at the time)

    Sure let’s wrap it up.

The initial deal was 3k to investigate — but darn if I can find the post where the deal was struck for the second part. I found the one where Jhonny says he’ll call back shortly, but somehow I’m missing noticing the follow up. Will try again in the morning when I’m awake.

    3K each for the investigation.

We paid Lysander 500 for some intel.

“How about another 5000 for each of you, and I’ll give you 500nY credit on gear totaling at least a 1000nY.“ Not sure if the gear credit was for each of us or for the team collectively. See this post:

    Thanks for that, Tecumseh.

So there it is: a total of 8k each. You can decide how to cover off the payment to Lysander — sorry I didn’t make it more divisible by 3.

In addition get or increase a relationship with Johnny Morad by 1 loyalty, and each of the three characters gets a 500nY discount on a purchase of at least 1000nY (total cost of purchase, does not have to be a single item that expensive, so it could be something like a gun plus accessories plus ammo.) From the original description: “Services – Elohim Munitions sells just about any street-legal gun you could want, and for favored customers (loyalty 3+) he will dip into a small stash of milspec weaponry. If you really get on his good side (loyalty 4+), he will rent out a room in secure basement as a safehouse for up to a month” He also offers training courses.

Maybe I’m having a crisis of imagination, or maybe it’s because I haven’t fired a single shot this campaign, but I’m having a hard time imagining what to get. Don’t really need more guns. I guess I could do some different ammo types, just to have some additional tools in the tool belt. What kind of Availability rating are we thinking that Johnny can swing?

Sweet AM has loyalty 4 with the Mossad guy. So if you want some mil-spec stuff she can facilitate. I may upgrade her gun (I bought the cheapest one that was reasonable). The money will likely all go into debt reduction minus a few necessities Beta did you mention Karma?

Also, Beta can you provide some details about the artifacts? Assume that we’ll study them for a few days. We are skilled in assensing, (e.g. estimating the force of a focus), and with arcana which is the goto skill for such things – so we should find something about them.

I’m giving up my part of the discount for someone else if necessary – for obvious reasons, Bobby isn’t up to carry around much gear (but he might be interested in acquiring a patch trode from KC as that should be easier to wear in the larger animal forms.
That discount would also nicely cover the costs for paying Lysaner 😉

Which brings us back to the question for Karma…

We each get the discount, so there’s no need to share or give it up for anyone else. I guess Bobby could get something besides a taser, for intimidation purposes (or in case he wants to hit something more than 20 meters away). He seems like a Ruger Super Warhawk kind of guy.

Well, true. Macho NAN Style Ruger Super Warhawk. But I usually just turn people into frogs along my line of sight…
Nonetheless, if any of you could use something for my discount, I’m happy to give it up.

I admit I don’t have a good feel for the karma in this campaign. What did we do so far, about 25 per session? Sound about right?

We’ve been doing 25-30 karma for chapters. Seems like a rate that’s working for everyone.

The IC thread has ~240 posts. Using Aria’s math, that’s 120 karma. There being four of us makes for 30 karma each.

I’m not opposed to alternative or nontraditional awards either. A karma award plus everyone raises one their dump stats (augmented rating 2 or less) by +1, for example. Or everyone learns a martial art or new technique for an existing one. That one doesn’t fit this chapter quite as well. Or the bayonet and the painting teach AM and Jawsey a new spell. Maybe a random one that’s fun but more niche, like Sunbeam or Healthy glow. You get the idea.

I liked how Tec gave us some knowledge and other skill that we were unlikely to invest karma in because everyone wants a new gimmick/shtick for their char. So it is nice to round up, a bit.

When I gave karma I tried to give an amount that was significant enough considering the time that passes between chapters is a lot so I wanted to enable having some change to the characters.

Posts/4 can be a guideline – I like simplicity. I think it came out about the same with my chapter.

Because the Interludes are short, I’m going to keep the Interlude awards around things like knowledge skills, neighborhood contacts, martial arts, niche things that are more about flavor than function. Maybe a couple points of karma to knock down a rank of In Debt. Although I’m actually pretty pleased with the sign language one, which has a direct application with Bobby’s communication constraints.

    Then how about
    – 25 karma
    – the point of loyalty with Jhonny
    – the discount with Jhonny
    – I’m not sure if it ever made it into a post, but I’d been thinking about him offering some training as well, so perhaps a point of small unit tactics? (Could actually be useful when communications with Bobby are limited, to be able to say things like ‘you are point, I’m cover’ and then a bunch of the rest can be assumed from mutual knowledge?) I don’t see any other knowledge skills that are particularly likely to come out of this run
    – then whatever happens with the two magic items.

And I apologize that Mato didn’t get to fight anything. I’d really been intending to set up a fight at the end, but sometimes players just come up with better plans.

As for the magic items, I need dig into a couple of books to refresh my memory about a couple of things (I really miss my deceased e-reader that I used to haul back and forth at lunch for quick lunch hour rule checks). Then I may give an OOC description of what they are, and let you all figure out how much you can determine with various rolls. With the shared GMing I don’t see any point in holding info back at this point, but I need to give non-confusing descriptions.
