Kaleb showed his most charming grin to Ryl as Sian finished speaking. The young looking princess or whatever position she had had snorted a few hours ago that no mere man could master a creature such as Sian.
Being perceived as a mere man was fine by him, but a mere man would display pride in showing her otherwise.
Of course Ryl would eventually be right but if Sian was playing submissive, he could very well play the proud commoner who got himself a great slave.
Well, My Lady, we shall come along as your entourage then. Who else will be joining us?

And yet Kaleb is doing it with Sian! What a diplomate! Hehe.
He is definitely conflicted as I tried portraying him.

Sorry BrickyardBabe, I was under the impression Alessandra was also a Banshee. Being a blood mage as in a mage from the blood elves, or actually using blood magic for her sorcery?

Hehe, Idhrenohtar is neither a fan of infected creatures, clashing it seems with both Alessandra and Sian, nor the use of Spirits, clashing with Ilario, and have a mild prejudice against Dragons, thus not faring well with Ryl nor any of the Dragon’s Acolytes which composed most of the group so far. Luckily he is wise and educated, more likely to debate an opposite mind than to fight it.

Maybe to her surprise Kaleb involves the slave to the discussion. Sian, what do you think, would you prefer to sneak into Sar’s house or enter in as an official procession led by Ryl and her entourage?
Kaleb could suddenly feel the hair of his neck rise. He recognized the feeling; something he hadn’t feel in years now. Spells… his Magic Sense had kicked in; there was a feint magic presence here, someone with an sustained or quickened spell around.

Kaleb is Idhrenohtar’s persona (a strong Physical mask) while in Egypt. Idhrenohtar was/is a Martial Adept who choose the Magician’s way to become a powerful sorcerer. He followed Alachia to the Blood Forest and lived through the Ritual of Thorn to escape the Horror. In a way he seems quite similar to Ilario. outside of dedicating themselves to very different path. It makes no doubt the two have met and know of each other, in spite of Idhrenohtar’s secretive nature. Alessandra’s sheet is not up so I wouldn’t know how they can relate though if I followed properly, she too has been a follower of Alachia and lived through the Ritual of Thorns.
Idhrenohtar has since revolted againt the elf Queen, following Harlequin’s ideas and views. He is in good term with the Seelie Court where his official allegiance lies. So they could have connection there. His true loyalty is to Harlequin whom he befriended in the Blood Forest.
Idhrenohtar lives through the eras under different personas. So they may know of him, but not necessary remember crossing path with him personally, they could have just interact with a personas of his. The only traits he usually keeps (though not always, depending on the circumstances and view of the time) is his face tattoo, that a good memory could potentially if hardly recognize.
I’m with @Jake_Spade that simply been invited by Ryl would suffice to pop up at this time of the story.

Kaleb watched Ryl with his intense light grey eyes. My Lady, even a powerful merchand like Sar would not refuse audience to someone of your status. Maybe myself and Sian can join you as your entourage, along maybe Karl and your strong Nubian guards. I would advise Ravech to remain with Rohn, in this palace which should be relatively safe. If not part of your entourage we can use your arrival at Sar’s house as a distraction to infiltrate it and find him and maybe the Shadowmen.

Kaleb, or rather Idhrenohtar the Unseen, immortal Elf, was an expert in Magical threats. And if the stories of the Maw were right, it would would attract its lot of evil societies, like the Shadowmen, but also possibly more of his kind.

Kaleb watched with interest the interrogation, sensing the feint magic irradiating from Ryl. Feeling ignored felt good for the man known as the Unseen, but he couldn’t take out of his mind that the fire in the inn was most likely started at his door… or Sian’s.
He looked at Ravech, then Ryl and the One Eye man, putting pieces of all the stories together.
Ravech, you mentioned the original scroll from the burnt pyramid was purchased by the Merchand Sar, residing at the edge of the Harbor. The fire in the inn was started using potteries from the Sar House. The so called sorcerers, aka Shadowmen, were seen residing or acting from the Harbor. Everyone who have shown interest in these scroll are dead or being targeted. Except, from what I gathered, Merchand Sar.
I strongly suggest we pay a visit at his residence. Like, right now… also it is likely Ravech and those seen in the house of the Scribe will remain targets.

I tried to fix the Menu issue, let me know if this work. And don’t hesitate to report any issue you encounter of course.

Hey, where’s the fun if there’s no challenge? If I manage to bind a Spirit to have him cast a couple of the spells, and I can recuperate from it in time, then a dose of Psyche will clear my mind long enough for us to get in and out. It won’t take me long to find a seller on my way to my place. Yeah’ I’ll need my Lodge for that. Sorry I got to leave the rest of the planning on you.
Deckard got up, sipped the remaining of his coffee and put on his jacket. All your ‘link talk sounded like gibberish to me. Virtual shit, dongles, programs… that’s just confusing. I’ll be relying on Robyn for extra protection, but if you think I need anything to not jeopardize our runs, then be my guest. My agent is really just an overpriced personal assistant for ‘Trix search at this time.

There are portals that will transport your entire body to some Metaplanes. Or at least there has been. I wonder what the Seelie Court would make f all that. In any case, some of the troubadours can stick around and watch for us; I am sure few are stupid enough to mess around with them. Idhrenohtar gave Shrike a look, with no connotation.
The question is: where are the nearest gateway to such land?

So he had found her again. The monster, blood sucking amoral creature, and formidable lover. There was no denial she could provide the best sex he could remember. But Kaleb was feeling like he was making a pact with the Devil. One that somehow he could not resist. Maybe this was what he was meant to embrace; death and pain were after all and ironically the common lot of an immortal.

These were hard times for Idhrenohtar. Yes. Difficult years, or maybe decades? He had had a hard time acclimating to the loss of potency of his magical skills. His illusions were amateurish at most; is attack spells inefficient and should he unleash his still powerful fire spells, he would become once more a pariah of society in many lands. It was even the first few years that he had started carrying weapons; his throwing blades and javelins allowing him to discreetly perform telekinetic attacks.
Times were changing. Maybe he was too.

He looked at Sian’s naked body. He had wondered if he should have killed her. Instead they have made love. In less than half a day, the creature has had him ran to a full gamut of emotions, from curiosity to amazement, from pity to deception, from despise to passion. He had wanted to free her when he won her over, but for some reason he was more hesitant this morning. Attachment? Control? Who knew.

The night had been short. She had made sure of it. Kaleb cleaned up after Sian and upon getting dressed made his way to Ryl’s parlor.
On their way, he and Sian finally exchanged a few words. What you did was reckless. I may not have your abilities, but one thing I am good at his understanding how the life in these cities goes. Walls have ears and words travel with the winds. By dusk, many rumors will have emerged. While most of the time they are exaggerated, the ones pertaining to your actions will spread fear and superstitions.

Hey guys. so I may make it harder to create a login, so to avoid any more spam attempts.
I also might purge some of the accounts that have really never been active if for one post, aiming at pretty much all those without an avatar.
Would you guys mind letting me know what you think of these measures. And if you know of anyone that should still keep their account in spite of never posting.

Deckard was trying to pay attention to Al’s explanation, working hard to decipher his thick accent while at the same time working on the newly acquired Body Armor that ISaint got in a record time. He was trying to fit in the helmet his trodes so that he’ll have an easier time staying connected with the team.

The plan was as good as any, and he was glad Al had the technical knowledge to not only detect the possible trap but also find a way to disable it. Yet Deckard chuckled a bit when he realized the plan required him to cast Invisibility and Levitation on everyone.

Whao, whao, whao. You want me to make each on of us invisible AND levitate us at the same time? You know that’s like 8 spells I’d have to sustain, right? I’m good but that’s pushing the limit!

He pondered for a brief second. Magic was instinctive to him, and as such his power had no limit really… or so was what Chaos Mage liked to think. The thing was: there’s raw power, and there’s ingenuity.

Fine, fine. I think I can manage. Give me about 8h to get ready. I’ll go to my shack and try to bind a Spirit that will be able to assist me with these spells.
With his help and a dose of Psyche I should be able to handle all of you without going brain numb.

Meanwhile if one of you would be so kind so finish modifying the armor that’d be great. They came pretty standard it seems.

Idhrenohtar, as his usual, was letting the evenst unfolds quietly. He had gone along and, as a precaution, shaved his head, like Jenny and Al. By now however, he already had a good centimeter of raven black silky hair back on his head.
He had expected the discussion to turn this way; it always did. And that was by far his least favoring. Allegiances, powerplay, interests.
He had been known to work for the Seelie Court, but that was more out of common goals and necessary intrigues. His true loyalty was to the mysterious Harlequin. He would never call him a Master, like Sian or Vindariel seemed to revere their mutual Dragonlord – more a Mentor. He had known him since the time of the Blood Woods, since the time his Queen had turned mad. Harlequin was far more powerful that Idhrenohtar could ever be, and a fervant actor in the fight against the Horrors.
He needed to have a word with him soon. Seek advise. But he cared less for the Tarot Card than the Dragon servants.

Now is not a time to be divided. I believe in what you showed us; the potential future. Some of us may have been through it once. And like Al, I’ll do whatever is necessary to help prevent it.
Once we reach save landing, we will head to Lowfyr and plead for his assistance. We’ll do the same with your Dragon, Sian. Wherever he may hide. I can maybe help with transportation if needs be.
Jenny. Will you be able to connect me to the Matrix from this can?

Idhrenohtar would leave a crytic message on the shadowboard. It wouldn’t be long before H. sees it.

ISaint, the guy is the greatest prick and I’m talking all metaplanes included. You might want to consider living with that Mark isn’t that bad after all. In any case, I’ll tag along if you need me.
Also, I’m much more entangled with the Russian, unfortunately, but I’m afraid we can expect retaliation from the Yak. The resort is somehow safer, but I feel it’s a matter of time before they decide to show up here. With Silky gone, maybe us too should consider returning to the Seattle soon. Let’s discuss with Al and Robyn.

It wasn’t long before he received a message from the blind woman. Sure, I’ll meet you shortly

Deckard collapsed on his bed holding on his head a small towel filled with ice and exhaled. At least he had got a decent tan…

Deckard emerged from his sleep, unable to tell what time it was. His head hurt like hell, and that wasn’t from a hangover. His head buried in his pillow, he could just discern his gun on the bed table and a small container of pills next to it. Aspirins hopefully, but he would content with any sort right now as long as the pain would go away. With just his hand moving he extended it and the container slid across the table to land in between his fingers. He popped two pills in his mouth, and pretending it already was taking effect, he sat up on the bed, trying to gather his thoughts. What a night it had been…
He looked through the huge window to notice the sun was high already. Late morning probably. He pat his hand again the top of his right temple. There was still some blood from the cut, and the bruise would certainly swollen for a day or two. The thing is Deckard had always sucked at healing Magic. Curing Hangover and toxins was the extend to what he had been able to learn. Which was still pretty good, but for wounds like this one, only time and/or a good medkit could handle it. And drugs.
The evening had started wonderfully. The Shamans had been welcoming and he had even been fascinated in meeting one of the man Ally Spirit. Even ISaint had played it pretty cool too, trying out their initiation rite. Nothing like a good cultural exchange.
Who knew the Yakuza would show up… Leave it to the two of them to get entangled in political powerplay whilst on vacation.
Well, now he was sure Al would be pissed to have missed out on all that fun.

Deckard got up and headed straight to the shower, checking on the cut in the mirror. Nothing serious, though he would be far too long before the headache goes away.
Drying off, he picked his commlink to see the farewell message from Silk and the check in from ISaint to which he replied.

Waking up just now. Hell of a brawl you did last night, as always. Sorry to drag you along such trouble all the time. I’ll be down in a bit.
